From what I've read here I believe that refers to Flex flying their own pilots around rather than using airlines. Reduced airline schedules have made it more difficult to get crews into position plus there's the health aspect of being on a crowded jet. Flex opted to run a shuttle service to get their own crews to their assigned jets. At the start of a tour Flex pilots take a rental car to the nearest location with shuttle service.

From the update I just read, 50 pilot positions. Those who are in the pipeline are still in the pipeline and have not been abandoned. The number I heard was 30 already in the pipeline. When precisely interviews will recommence, I haven’t heard. But they are gearing up for it! Good luck!

Two questions:
Is there any type of minimum monthly guarantee?
Is there anything explicitly preventing them from just extending you past your tour days? Obviously, I know maintenance, weather, etc. But are there any protections against “your 8 day trip just became a 10 (or 25) day trip”?

You can bid your schedule, but you’ll never get less than 14 days a month unless you bid it. You can work as little as 12 or as much as 19. You cannot get extended on any tour unless you ask for it. If they ask you to extend, it’s voluntary and paid at a minimum of 1.5x up to 4x daily rate, depending on need, but no, they cannot force you to work more days than you have scheduled. They are really good at getting you home on your go home day, and obviously not traveling on your day off.
What I'm asking is how is one trip calculated to only be worth 1.5x your pay and another 4x your pay?

Its determined by management and how urgent the need is. It isn’t handed out all that often, so don’t expect it.

Yes, you're on company time and get daily rate, plus per diem if you're stuck at the hotel due to canceled flying or nasty weather. You also get daily rate for travel days to and from work.
