To answer the other question about even in today’s operating environment, yup still glad I left and if I am let go I’ll find something but I unpacked the years at NJA and don’t ever wish to go back...

awwwww we miss you 😘

Been there, done that, got the t-shirt. No thanks. Now that furloughs and downsizing are right around the corner, I'm glad I made the switch to fracs. Quality of work life has been 10 times better ever since.
Sounds like you create the best case scenario for your frac argument, and the worst case scenario for 121. You never worked for a mainline carrier, and it shows. It would be noted that everyone who worked for NJA or Flex, and left for a major airline, has said they would do it again without question. I am included in that camp. I would make the choice to leave again without any hesitation what so ever.

You guys have no idea the real status of your companies... It's cute to have CEOs quoted as saying fractionals will flourish and airlines will suffer, yet Flex literally withheld pay until they could get a government loan. Let that sink in! Last time NJA furloughed, they furloughed a higher percentage than any airline, and stayed furloughed longer than most airlines.

NJA and Flex could easily put pilots on the street over this, and they may. This has been devastating to everyone in all sectors of aviation, lets all hope we can get passenger demand up for everyone, and move on without seeing anyone else put on the street.

cheers, glad you are doing well. My freightdog brothers who made the jump unfortunately, especially at UAL, are facing bleak near term futures, they are all great guys, may this not touch you. God bless.

That would be my guess - I lost my job mid may and applied on the 14th. Just checked my application status and it still says "submitted" so I assume I'm still in the running for now.

Seems like hiring has slowed at most places right now. I lost a great 91 gig, and hiring has been quiet on the 135 front. Wish you guys the best!

In January,, new hires were offered class dates for May. Those people still have a CJO, but no word on when hiring will resume.

so, if you’re just now putting in an app, I wouldn’t exactly hold my breath.

In a recent company announcement, it is looking like Q4 is when the company is aiming to start classes again, as well as continuing to take aircraft deliveries. I believe hiring is directly related to aircraft deliveries, since the industry is in a stand still with no movement. Going to be pretty competitive, and a internal recommendation with be nearly the only way to get in at first.

They are also keeping the hiring pool intact for those of us who were in the middle of the hiring process when COVID-19 started off, so that will probably push hiring back a few months as well for those who weren’t already in the queue in Jan/Feb of 2020. Hoping for good news on the hiring front soon!

January interviews received April class dates. A few of us were able to get an earlier class date and started right before everything stopped.
