Hey Sike,

Where do the flights from ATL go? I see on the site that it backtracks through DFW. And, how long are the pairings (ie. 6 on, 6 off). Have they talked about a DFW base?

How is the training going so far?

Also curious...what exactly do you mean (Marcal) by 4 of the 9 months in spent in HK? Is that the training duration

Thanks,

GNH

It takes 9 mos to get ATL. He's saying that by the time that you are done with training, 4 (or so) of those months have already passed. In otherwords, in about 3 more months, you can hold ATL.

You dig?

I got the following in an email today. Sounds like Cathay is opening up their interviews a bit.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Cathay Pacific will be conducting US based First Officer initial interviews at the AIR, Inc. Airline Pilot Job Fair on September 22, 2007 in Washington, DC at the Hyatt Regency Reston Hotel.

If your experience meets their minimum selection criteria, you are invited to schedule an interview:

- 3,000 hours total time (minimum), which includes 1,400 jet hours
- Hold a valid ICAO/FAA ATP
- Accrued in excess of 200 hours in the past six months

A limited number of slots are available so early confirmation of your intention to interview is required.

To secure an invitation to interview with Cathay Pacific during AIR, Inc.'s Airline Pilot Job Fair and to find out more about what the interview will comprise of, http://www.jet-jobs.com/email/semina...aypacific.html.

Been a bit busy lately but now I have a few mins to sit and give the old update. My wife just got here for a couple weeks and we were out seeing the sights.

I'm 8 flights into IOE and things so far have still been great. My checkrides were with a couple of the tough ones we all hear about but they went ok too. The airplane flies very nice and the cabin crew treats us well. Of course I will not have them for very long as we only do pax flights during training then it is off to our freighter duty. My next trip is a freighter though so that will be cool. I'll get back to the good old USA for a couple days in ANC and JFK.

I keep waiting for the horror stories to come true but so far even with the tough guys it has been pretty laid back. My biggest problem now is my allowance stockpile is taking a big hit at the ladies market with my wife in town!

Just what are the horror stories, I have and interview there and was wondering how bad it could be? I keep hearing about pprune having some cathay pilots bitching but I don't know how to find it.
