Question wE CAN ONLY WAIT AND SEE!!

Well no use in going back and forth....I also stand by my facts...guess one of us will have our facts borne out with time..but for those looking to make an "informed" decision..you you have the "facts" as they are on the ground!!

I'll be willing to stand behind my facts anytime and quite frankly unless you feel like telling me your FCC number, I guess we'll both know in a few years.

Hi Phil,
Could you tell what is the average income of a SIA Cargo Captain, flying like 40 to 50 hours a month?
Regards,
SF

On an expat contract, with housing and education allowance it is about US$175,000. That also includes profit sharing and 13th month pay.

Phil, et al

Do you (or anyone else) have an idea how long it takes to hear back from SQ (or SQcargo) after applying?

I applied for a DEC position back in early Feb., No widebody time but I meet all the posted requirements. Still no word. Any ideas?

Short Final,
I did my application on the begining of January, got called for an interview on March, could not make it, so it was postponed to May.
I'm going to Singapore for an interview on the 17th.
Got myself more than 5300 flying time on widebodies, 14500 total.
Hey Phil,
Thanks for the estimate.
Still not sure what to do about the Bank Guarantee.
Rgds,
SF

I was current and qualified when I went there. I have heard of people not putting up "cash" but just having a lien placed on property or something similar. Talk to your banker about options. I know of at least one case where someone took out a loan, but never transferred the money. The lending bank drafted a letter and that was it.

Cheers

Phil,
Thank you for the information on the bank guarantee.
I was thinking on doing exactly what you have said, putting a lien on a house I have in my country or to get a loan from some local Singapore bank.
I do have some of the money, so first I will have to get through the interview, then it will be time to worry about the rest of it.
Do you know (or anyone reading this) when one is supposed to provide the proof of the bank guarantee?
Rds.,
SF

Hi All,
I did the interview and everything was all right. Now I'm waiting for the medical results to hear from SIA Cargo.
The people out there were extremely kind and helpful.
There was one thing that they emphasise wich was the positioning hours, wich they said could get often on to 40-50 hours a month. They wanted me to know the fact so I would not complain about it on the future.
Regards,
SF
