I don't ever recall having my legs visibly checked at my physical and if it is not listed in the manual, I don't think it would be checked. If you want to make sure, contact the contract company you are applying with and have them look into it.

Hi again guys,

I had a big day today. I got a call from parc saying that my application was successful and that I will get an interview! Actually, he offered me Sept. 10th, but regrettably, I am working a trip on those days. Against all my being, I told him that. I told him if it affected my chances in any way that I would find a way out of that work trip, but he assured me that he would call me mid-september for an October interview. (I'm also moving this week due to base displacement at current job). Did I screw this up already?

Hopefully not because I spent all day re-reading this entire thread and dreaming about actually getting this job. LOL.

I'm going to do whatever it takes. Which brings me to this: I'm surprised that nobody is really talking (on this thread, at least) about the sim prep courses that are around. I always see on climbto350.com a prep course specifically designed for this gig. Has anybody taken one of these? Remember, all I've got is CRJ time. Any additional interview prep advice not previously mentioned here would be greatly appreciated. I took notes when re-reading today so I should be solid on what's on here (yes, I'm a dork sometimes).

congrats....i used a flt sim on my computer to get my round dial scan going. I was lucky in that i was able to get some 767 sim time. it was helpful, but remember that they are not looking to see how well you can fly a 767, but rather how well you can adapt to the way they do things here. learn (memorize) the profile down to the last detail and I think that will go a long way.

i think you're right, thanks. i looked into this sim prep course just a tiny bit. they want $595 for 1 hour in the sim, 1 hour pre, 1 hour post brief's, and a supposed "comprehensive study guide." however, parc will send me a comprehensive study guide, won't they? and only 1 hour in the sim? jeez. i think i may pass on that. only thing is, if i don't get the job, i want to know that i did everything i could, ya know?

no problem. i first submitted an app with Crew in June or early July. i still haven't heard anything from them (not even an automatically generated email). after i got on this forum, i realized that i could send app's to multiple leasing companies at the same time. i went to parc's website and simply clicked on the job for an inquiry of sorts, i guess; in mid July. i got an almost immediate response, with a bunch of info about the contract. it included the app, and various attachments to be filled out. I got all the app done probably 5 weeks ago. 2 weeks later, after sending parc an email or two, they said that my logbook pages were not clear enough. so i scanned them on again and sent them back pretty quickly. 2+ weeks later, again after a couple emails, i got the call yesterday.

so, if i would have sent parc a clear app from the start, then it wouldn't have taken very long at all, i suppose.

any thoughts on passing the short notice interview offer?

I did the sim prep with Paramount (Flight Crew Leasing and Recruiting Services - Paramount Aviation Resources Group, Inc.). I had been furloughed since January, and was coming from the A320 and the CRJ. For me it was worth it. The materials they give you are much more in depth for the sim ride than what you will get from Parc (I went thru Crew, so YMMV). Now, do I think you need to be that in depth? No, not really, but for me it was great practice. We did the exact maneuvers and the instructor shared a bunch of tips.

Between this site and PPrune, there is a lot of gouge. Study that, but by all means, KNOW YOUR CURRENT AIRCRAFT! And by know, I mean in depth. Hint: Do you know, and can you explain, ALL the modes of the GPWS? I was asked that. I found the interview to be very technical and very aircraft oriented.

OK. I appreciate that info JPMike. I called them about it, but I had to leave a message. I'm reading the PPrune thread today.

I could actually imagine someone overlooking their current aircraft for an interview. So I appreciate that too. If only it was strictly a CRJ oral; I'd be in business.

Hey PurpleCRJ - congrats on the call. I'm wondering, you say you have CRJ time only. What are your times like?

I got shot down the same time you got the call. Oh well, it's how the cookie crumbles I guess.... I have CRJ/ERJ time just over 3000TT. Either way, wish you all the best and hope you get it. It'll give me hope that CRJ folks can get on the big stuff!!
