I’ve been reading through this thread and have had my eye on XOJet for awhile. My career has been 22 years of a fragmented, on/off, slow-time building Military/Part 91 experience (due to family reasons mostly.) Finally in a good place to pull chocks and try something new. Have viewed pilot comments, the website, news articles, followed their recent merger etc....seems like a solid place to make a career.
I currently have a sweet gig flying for a Big 12 university, low six $, 5+10%DC, and work 120 days/yr with solid benefits. QOL is awesome but I’m pretty much capped as a King Air PIC.
Unfortunately I don’t know anyone in the fractional world. Did most of the pilots on here have an internal company referral and does XO consider pilots with zero jet time?

I can tell you that one of the guys in my Indoc class had zero jet time. I was also a military/Part 91 guy who didn’t know anybody in XOJET, but I networked through this forum (and others), and even met an XOJET flight that came in near my home. It seemed to work out for me as I got hired (somehow) and am now “livin the life”...

I got hired with zero jet and about 2k in the King Air. ALOT of us hired 3-4 years ago fit this mold back then it was a guerentee to get the challenger because it was less challenging then the X. This has changed and now your fair game for both fleets.
Just be ok with working every bit of 200 days a year and unless your at a B12 school located in FTW, AUS or just outside KC don’t expect any overnights at home during rotation. The others could range from 4-5 a year.

what's the general feeling at XO re: the immediate future?
Will hiring cease for awhile? Will they even be impacted by this?
I have an interview offer (phone interview.. the first of a 3-step process as I understand it?) .. but feel it's not a good time to start over at ANY company, 135 or 121. Certainly not 121.. but I know little about the 135 world.

XO also has a policy that pilots who leave the company may return to XO, at the discretion of XO, within 90 days of their date of resignation and retain their seniority.
The company has accepted pilots back to XO in the past but these are unusual times so there is no mandatory, guarantee this would apply in these times but for some new hires at UAL, DAL, AA ( I don’t know if we have any recent exXO new hires at any of these mainlines but this could also alter new hiring.
Praying for a return to normal but I think it will be another 4-6 weeks before the picture becomes more clear.

My opinion is there is zero chance classes continue without being postponed.

Agreed, besides with hotels closing down where are new hires going to stay? Just the secondary effects of Covid-19 on available services are going to make it impossible for any air carrier to conduct training events as they won't be able to support them.
