I'm curious about these. Have the overruns been due to trying to make a pretty landing (float) and ignoring dry/wet numbers?

It's more complicated than that. It's a single wheel airplane, with no T/R's, and a computer controlled braking system that functions differently than most other airplanes. It seems to work well with dry runways, but when runways are contaminated, the system leaves a lot to be desired.

Saw my first NJA Phenom in SFO a few weeks ago... All NJA bashing aside, I wasn't impressed with the look or size of it. It looks cheap and not something I'm used to seeing with a QS on the tail.
Do guys enjoy flying it, or is everyone trying to bid out
What kind of Vref speeds and landing distances does it have? What's its MTOW?

The Latitude will be a great airplane for passengers and pilots IMO.

Have you seen the XLs lately? Very versatile airplane but I have seen several on the ramps lately that look beat up and dirty. Obviously they are well used and a busy fleet, but, like the Xs, they are looking their age...

Just from the outside, Cessna products "look" more sturdy and of better quality than the Embraer. I wouldn't doubt the Latitude would be a more suitable a/c. Too bad Sokol opted for the cheaper products.

Haven't seen the XLS's or X's even. I do hear an occasional X on the radio..

They are understaffed for captains in the Phenom, but overstaffed in the other aircraft categories--that should tell you something. They just put out a captain-only captain bid (i.e., no FOs allowed to bid) for the Phenom, but I doubt they'll get any takers. So they'll displace people into it, but I imagine they will bid out at the first opportunity...
