Frontier Negotiations Discussion
#1981
Someone more familiar could give more accurate dates but if I understand it NK had their last scheduled negotiations session in Feb 2010. Then a mandatory 2 day session in April 2010. And finally a notice of release to cooling off on May 12th. I’m not sure where the proffer dropped in that timeline.
My best guess now for us is Spring as well. There’s a narrow window after the summer rush leading to the holiday rush and the midterm elections are holding all the political attention during that time.
Spring? Another flippin’ management troll. Again, following the dates in your post, we would expect a proffer any day now, not next spring.

If you’ve read his previous posts you can see he’s definitely not management.
Everyone has an opinion but at least he brought some useful info to this thread. People are complaining about how long the nmb is taking, but we’re dealing with a government entity nothing happens fast. I’d expect a 3 month window (based on spirit’s timeline) before they would respond to our ask of proffer. We’ve been waiting 5 weeks so that would leave 7 weeks to go. They respond beginning of August, our 30 days cooling off ends beginning of September, our slowest month for flying between summer and the holidays. That’s my estimate. Unless, 1) the NMB has no intention to release us or 2) We do something stupid and get a tro.

You’re correct that the date in May 2010 was the proffer from the NMB. I meant to say that I don’t know the date when the Union requested the proffer. That’s maybe more important for comparison to our current timeline. If anyone knows, please share.
Those guys obviously faced a much different set of outside factors that may or may not have factored in the NMB decision to proffer. Consolidation wasn’t as narrow, board members were different, etc., who knows really.

It’s pretty tough to get a tro when we’re by far the least unified pilot group in the world... in order for anyone to take notice of any wrongdoing, we’d actually have to band together and do something as a team that’s worthy of a tro... that’s obviously not gonna happen... management laughs at us while they carry their sacks of money to the bank... ALPA doesn’t care about any airline not named Delta or United... while I appreciate the efforts of the NC, my personal opinion is they’ve completely dropped the ball at almost every stage of negotiations... and most importantly, us... we’ve proved that we’re self serving, selfish and as much as we p!ss and moan about being the lowest paid, we DO NOTHING TO HELP OUR OWN CAUSE!!... tro... that’s as laughable as being a Frontier pilot right now

I still think the NMB is going to want another "marathon" mediation session. I do not expect a proffer. The company moved towards the 'reasonable' in the last 2 sessions. I don't see them seeing an impass. I think they see the company negotiating in bad faith, but the company has moved in our direction, perhaps just enough to not be seen as being at an impass. (This is my fear)
Perhaps the board is doing what they need to do before they are willing to proffer arbitration. Conducting studies of the impact of a work stoppage. God knows the government loves to do impact studies before they do anything.
I think we will get one more, final mediation session. If no deal is reached at the end of that session they will proffer. By the conclusion of the final mediation session, we will be so close to a deal that they will feel confident that we can reach a deal during the cooling off period. The deal will be reached on day 29 of the cooling off period likely in October.*
*I'm not a fortune teller.
Also: even if we are allowed to strike, Trump will probably intervene and stop the strike. If you think he's on our side and not managements side, you don't know Trump.

I tend to agree with Aero. I would rather they just proffer, but think another week of negotiations will be scheduled...When that will occur, I have no idea.
I think Trump really could give a crap about us, just too much other chaos to deal with.

Dear Bill Franke, Dear Barry Biffle,
Sincerely, Thank you for helping to mold Frontier into a profitable Airline, Thank you for giving my career stability and future. Thank you for helping me provide a company that I WANT to hang my hat on, but...why do you honestly see me the same way that you see the person who collects your garbage? We are a highly skilled and valuable labor group; which is becoming a short supply bye the way..Why don’t you realize that you have a workforce that is willing to help this company dominate the US ULCC growing industry? Our ask isn’t unreasonable, and our goal is the same...build a big a$$$ American ULCC that can dominate our niche! I understand profits and I understand bottom line. But if you don’t meet us halfway, and soon, you are hurting ALL of us! Yourselves included...please don’t loose sight of that!
