I saw from fftpilot that CHI is 80-90% 1 day trips. How long are these days? Think they'd be doable from MSP or at least to arrive back home at MSP after the days done? I know commuting's a pain, but I'm trying to figure out how to have a base preference. I'm hoping for ATL, DEN, or DFW since those have the most 2-, 3-, and 4- day trips.
If anyone has any advice, I'm all ears.

Ya I think we’ve all heard AL say that in recurrent by now. I also like to remember he directly said the LOAs offered during the summer were a mistake. Nice to hear somebody admit their error.
Im betting it will take some time for everybody to be on the same page. It’s not like Barry had the leadership to do that.

Too many bases? More turns? Not possible by simple math. I don't have the specifics but if DEN has access to 16 gates for overnight parking, CHI has 4-5, DFW has 7-8, SJU has 4-5, PHL 10, LAS 10, MCO 12, TPA 6, PHX 6, MIA 6 and another 10-20 spaced out of ramp parking, that's almost 1/2 the aircraft NOT at a base.
And the desire is to reduce bases while increasing fleet size?
Is this the case of another inept CEO w/ unobtainable ideas and kneejerk reactions to latest trends? Do we have a 5 year plan (or further)?

unless you’re planning on getting more real estate at the hubs to park planes overnight, or you plan on dramatically increasing redeye flights, I’d be interested to see how you get those two thinks to coincide
he might be planning on increasing utilization somehow. But, he somehow has to determine which routes will be profitable. And that’s a story as old as time with this company.

I agree with this statement. It would’ve made more sense for him to say “too many bases, and we need more multi day trips.”
