I found some kaki pants that are made for hiking and such. Look great and take up almost no room.
I got denied the jumpseat on delta once. When the captain asked me my age he said they didn’t allow anyone over 30 in their jumpseat. He was 27 and I think the FO was 23 so I wasn’t in their league.

The address thing is absurd. When you update you address with the FAA, they don’t send you a new airman’s certificate. What a joke.

I would let our jumpseat coordinator know about license/medical address issues. He’s pretty good at getting those types of problems addressed. All he needs is city pairs, date, and flight number.

I wouldn’t risk it if I was trying to take a Jumpseat. I’ve seen guys deny jumpseaters for that when I was at the regionals. Just my 2 cents.

Is it legally possible to have a different address on your medical and license? I’m just asking because I’ve had different addresses multiple times in my career. If it is possible you can’t be denied a jumpseat for that.

my medical and license don’t match. i took my type ride shortly before moving, and i’ve had no issues commuting thus far. faa doesn’t send you new plastic for address changes so anyone who denies the jumpseat for this reason would be captain douche imo as there’s no legal basis other than pic discretion ie pic ignorance

Let’s install scales next to the carryon bag sizer. The weight on your cert doesn’t match the weight on your medical. Neither match your weight at this moment on time. Therefore we couldn’t possible verify your identity. Denied.

Yes. You update your address with the feds, they don't send out another cert. Idiots power tripping don't know that.

In that case I would let our jumpseat rep know. He can put a stop to it. If you don’t get on the airplane after mentioning that fact to the crew. City pair, date, flight number. He put a stop to swa gate agents bumping jumpseaters for dhers fairly quickly.

Not saying it’s a good reason to deny someone a jumpseat, but it only cost $4.00 to have replacement certificates with the new address on them. I just did that. It only taces 30 seconds to request them. Having said that, for a few months last year the address in my medical did not match my updated certificates….who cares?
