I agree that I don’t think any airlines make operational decisions to align each other pre-merger announcement.
Even though I like having fun speculating at times, I don’t ever really buy into all the rumors. However, I still don’t understand what else this social media post could mean.

A code-share with United or American.. all their money is made from international anyway. Why not code-share ULCC's to get their domestic passengers to the hubs. It would solve all of the legacies overhead problems by axing all the over paid rampers and gate agents. And they could furlough most of their pilots too.

United makes more sense than AA.
Money in the bank (more than AA) and adding another 200 airbuses to United’s fleet of 550ish 130-190 seaters evens them up to AA’s domestic market size of around 700 130–190 seaters.
And where did United just open 2 new bases after almost 20 years? Non other than co-bases with F9, both on the same day.
Barry sold his house because he’ll be out of a job so why not retire to Dallas where I guess he spent a lot of time in the past.

That also has its own problems. Similar base and flight structure but we certainly wouldn’t be the greenest anymore. And they just placed an order for 50 max was it?
AA gets Allegiant
Alaska gets Avelo
Delta gets Sun country
Hawaiian gets Breeze
JetBlue gets Spirit
Southwest gets scheduling software
United gets Frontier
Consolidation round 2 complete. *Disclaimer* this entire list is a joke for those that take life too seriously.
