But what’s the plan?

Are we gonna diversify into more premium services (outside of just first class seats)? Are we gonna focus on developing out infrastructure to include better customer service from the app to the ticket counter to the gate? How are we gonna improve on-time
performance - stretching out the time between flights or something else? I get that he can’t be too specific but it’s a freakin town hall for cries sales. People should have a better idea of HOW - not just what we’re planning.

Where are we focusing? What about the network needs changing? When will the first classs seats (that are already overdue) come out and when is WiFi gonna start.
What is in this “strategic plan” that caused our union to cancel a picket event? There is nothing real earth shattering or pivotal here. Not pointing fingers, just curious what our leadership was told by the company vs what we heard today.

In all seriousness nothing. This is not anything I think the union is disappointed about. Must be nice to take FPL and drag this stupidity into the 2030’s

Right. I’m sure they will love taking FPL at 80 per hr less for the next five years dealing with management. As opposed to 80 per hr more for not dealing with management.

The pilot group is paying for this. The 30 day thing was an embarresment. How long is the pilot group going to allow MM to drag his feet before a change in leadership is made.

So now that’s a fair statement. Suggesting that it’s being dragged out intentionally to milk FPL is ridiculous. There’s no cost benefit at all to do that.

Hey man don’t shoot the messenger. Go look it up and see the schedules. When I last looked on FPL with nothing happening. Explain to me why anyone is taking FPL when our meetings constantly get pushed out or rescheduled? Must be nice to not bust your balls to make a living.

So what you are saying is the oppertunity to log FPL remains the same once negotiations are complete and contract is signed? Do you have an explanation as to why no media events/picketing have been planned long after the 30 day "figure it out" period. The day of the earnings call would have been an oppertune time.

so nothing happens when there’s no meeting with management? Most, not all, are spending several days of prep work to meet with the company for one day. A meeting is the end result of days of prep time.

An example would be a recent sec 19. A pilot stuck their foot in mouth. A rep spent at least 6 hrs (working with legal, hr, crafting a coherent legal response letter) to keep this persons job and limit disciplinary action. Guess what it worked and saved this person millions in potential earnings. You’re not moving on from what this pilot said.

Another example. One grievance settlement meeting with management=days of prep so you’re not giving away anything of any value while at the same time preserving language and trying to get pilots paid. That’s not something you prep for in a few hours.

there’s a contractual number that management pays. More than likely it’s exceed in negotiations. More than likely it’s not when we’re not in negotiations. After negotiations committees are generally shrunk substantially in the weeks and months following.

No explanation on the 30 days. You can reach out to reps for an explanation if you or anyone else wants details. I would expect something in the next week but like I mentioned I wouldn’t expect communications immediately following the call. Generally it takes a few days to gather data and input from various Alpa personnel to craft a strategy and response.

You can feel free to volunteer for an ALPA position that requires FPL and then let us know if it is considered "not busting your balls for pay" because the whole point of FPL is to not lose or gain from volunteer work.

You think they just sit around all day and then go to one meeting with the company every few months?

You should call up MM and ask him what his deal is, I am sure that will be a nice learning experience for you.

Also, the NC has their hands tied with what they can and cannot communicate to us. While they are our voice, they are negotiating for us, they are also signing and under NDAs for certain things when it comes to meetings with the company. This is why we have a whole national ALPA legal team which keeps this all in check.
