Default New Hire Class Dates/Drops and Bases

I figured I’d start one due to the influx in hiring! December 15th is the next class!

I’ve been flying with a lot of newer cadets lately, and not a single one has said they want to build a career here. To them Frontier is a stepping stone at best, a place to log time before moving on.

And honestly, I can’t blame them. When they see a 12 year Captain here is being out earned by 2nd and 3rd year legacy First Officers, the writing is on the wall.

That and many of the captains treat them like ****. Why would they want to stay with a pilot group that hates them?

I’ve been here over 2 years and haven’t flown with a single CA that treats anyone like sh**. Are there some? Of course, but to say “many captains” is straight up BS….unless you’re a total Sally and need safe spaces…then the perspective could be different I suppose.

lol. To the cadets bro.

they ****** talk all about cadets all day long.

they hate them. So they want to leave. It’s almost a sweep across the hubs the second you say you’re a cadet most will treat you differently. In a bad way.

if you do well and they didn’t ask if you were a cadet. You tell them. They get weird and trust you less almost instantly. This place hates cadets in the school house. L

it’s true. You’re not a cadet. You came from a regional. So you can’t speak to this issue. But I’ve heard from dozens and dozens. They do. It does suck. Get your time and leave. Who cares.

Agreed.

Granted, the bases I've flown at have been less hostile and I will stand up for the cadets. But, why would any of them want to stay in a pilot group that despises them for no fault of their own?

They showed up when they were offered to. They did the training to the standards they were asked to. Shame on those captains, I say. Another reason I won't look back when I'm gone.

What that’s crazy talk!

What’s to hate about a bunch of children bragging about picking up as much as possible, working premiums, and totally undermining any and all bargaining power we have. I personally love working under an expired union contract that underpays me by over 50%.

We love the cadets!

A cadet just showed me a schedule with 7 days off where he is commuting coast to coast to work every possible trip. Y’all are part of a union now and we are under contentious negotiations. Call your rep and ask them how to act like a professional.

I think this sums up a lot of it. It’s an attitude thing. I’ve talked to just about everyone I fly with about this issue and a lot of new hires…largely cadets have the same attitude…”I’m leaving anyway so who cares”. They’ll hoard open time just to throw it on the trade board, snatch up terrible premium offerings in a millisecond. All with a disregard of their fellow pilots. It’s a “me me me” mentality that rubs folks the wrong way. Humility and integrity go a long way.

Couple that with the large number of “qualified” pilots that still can’t land the plane and it’s no wonder captains feel a certain way.
