Thats one you’ll have to dig through the bid packets to see once you got on property. I would not bid a base based on overnights. They have drastically changed since I’ve been here. I remember a few months ago I had like 4 over the course of the month in LAX and now I haven’t had any.

My personnel recommendation is bid for the base that will be an easy commute if you don’t live in base. Commuting can be a pain depending on which one of our bases you get. Some are definitely better than others to get to.

Assuming you get SJU or PHL in the first award, how long before you can actually transfer? Are the bids months in advance?

Starting in a few weeks and eventually want DEN or LAS. I know there’s a lot of movement and it won’t likely be right away, just wondering how frequent the transfers are.

everytime there is a new hire class( every month, right now)Or if they do a base swap (which is less often I believe). I think the bid is for 3 months out.

The base swap is quarterly but far from a guarantee. The best way is the bid packet as BeeKnee said. With current hiring it shouldn’t take long to get any base you want.

There are double digit unfilled vacancies for PHL right now so that or SJU are good bets. A few NH awards go to DEN/LAS usually.. Not many though, I would anticipate you can get to DEN/LAS within 2 bids of your new hire award. So you'd only commute for 1-3 months.

Thanks. Just curious, any vacancies in anything further west like DFW/CVG/etc?
