I am sure there will be more, thinking ORD, ATL, or some other areas where they + spirit would have too big of a presence to be allowed.
I know for sure DFW might get some gates out of it as well. Lots to see whenever more info gets released. I know we didn't just open DFW to sit with our 3 gates or whatever it is there. I am sure they know more. Just a WAG of course. |

You head must be pretty deep in the sand if you think the merger won’t go through.

Spirit stock is trading at nearly half of the price Jetblue has committed to pay for it at merger closing. Wall St doesn’t think it will go through either.
As far as LGA is concerned I will agree that the "flying" part of flying into LGA is definitely fun. Sitting 20 deep on a ground stop or racing to beat the curfew because we run chronically late is not fun. You might make more money from those debacles but sitting in a plane full of very unhappy people is not the way I would chose to spend my time, if I could.... |
The LGA news is dependent on the following
Merger occurs. It still hasn't. Biden administration has said "no" so far The giving away of slots and gates will be subject to approval of the port Authority of New York and New Jersey, as well as the United States (US) Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the US Department of Transportation (DOT). Note that the states of NY, NJ, amongst others, also oppose the JetBlue / Spirit merger and have filed legislation to that effect. Not sure how the Port Authority above can "approve" this if their state has lawsuits filed. |

That last video from BB in Cleveland seemed different. This is just my guess but I think somebody like Buttigieg has told Barry you had better start doing a better job of running your airline. Something like, “ You’re too late, too often, and too many complaints. Fix it or be fined.” Either that or management realized they have reached the limit of how many people you can **** off and yet continue to sell tickets and thus grow. Now we are seeing a return of the phone call option, deals to get away from “nickle and diming,” an avenue to report shady gate agents abusing policy, and a major push to improve performance all within week. On another note, good lord those performance # are bad! |

I think the merger probably will go thru now that they broke up the JB/AA NE alliance
And LGA is fun. It's OK to have a little challenge sometimes. I'm bored of being vectored onto a 20 mile final to a 12,000 ft runway. And plus, it's a good airport to make extra $ There are better ways to make additional flight credit than to sit on the ground with ATC delays and unruly passengers. ATC today is probably our greatest threat to safety. Please don’t take this feedback in the wrong way. Just an observation that got my attention from more post. The daily, if not, almost every flight challenges we deal with at this airline is all the the “little” challenges I care to deal with. With all due respect and unity, F9 pilot |
Which is exactly why we should be getting paid more than our peers. Same aircraft, more people we are responsible for with less support. 1 + 1 = 3

Aero...If you are truly bored with normal flight operations, it could be time for you to reassess your role as a professional airline pilot. It sounds like complacency setting in. Our duties as pilots at Frontier airlines are probably more demanding in regards to the disfunction of normal flight operations at our airline than most others. We lack management support and the respect this pilot group deserves. We continue to save the day, every day as we have done for the 16+ years I have been here. It is our culture and always has been at this airline to keep the wheels moving. If we didn’t do this, our airline would depart the tracks pretty quickly.. You have been here long enough to know all this.
