If you put an order down for a Honda from the Honda dealer, they made a sale and are happy. Why would the Honda dealer want to buy your order, to then sell again? A bird in the hand is better than not. What if the magical "second buyer" backs out? Uh...
More garbage reporting from Aero News, always 1-2 weeks late anyway. They just now reported the Alaska 737 issue.

If someone places an order for a 321neo today I think it's about a 5 to 6 year wait to take delivery. United must be willing to pay a premium to cut the line. Indigo does have a ton of orders between JetSmart, Volaris, Wizz and us. Not hard to imagine they would sell a few of the slots back to Airbus for 5 million bucks a slot. Can't imagine JetSmart really needs all their orders? But there's also literally thousands of Airbus on order. Odds are this has no effect on us and it might even just be a B.S. game to try and get a discount from Boeing on more Max

I have to assume that Airbus would sell any slots they can get back for a lot more money.

This is Business 101 classic negotiations. Heck, high school girls have done this since we rode around in stage coaches. The current boyfriend (Boeing) is not doing his job, so the girl (United) is "rumored" to be courted by the handsome stud in another classroom. Maybe they are "rumored" to be seen eating ice cream together.
Magically, the current boyfriend starts sending flowers and opening his car door for her.
Kirby indeed is likely in France. All show and tell smoke and mirrors. And a company paid trip to see France.

Anyway Airbus makes about 45 A320s per month last I heard. Our 23 this year are a pretty small percentage of the 550 produced. I would actually assume a Frontier order for more planes should be coming soon. 5-6 year backlog and we are 5-6 years out from taking our final current order. Unless we just start extending leases which has happened for two planes last year but that’s not saying much. Our first Leap CFMs retire from the airline in just a year and a half.

Now think if Indigo (Frankie) sells 100 321neo deliveries for 10 million each. Let’s do the math.
Thats 1 Billion dollars in 3 years since indigo placed the order in 2021. And I’d bet indigo
put nothing down. So it’s like someone handing him a billion dollars.

Nobody with Airbus orders in-hand is giving them up. Why? What is the replacement? The Max?

It’s not as simple as your Honda scenario Herc.. When I flew Biz jets a lot of customers were putting in for a “slot” (order) on a Gulfstream or Global express. You maybe put down 500K or a million bucks. Now someone that really wants one sooner says “ Hey Mr Herc- I’ll give you 5 million to take your delivery date.” You would say ok , I don’t mind flying around in my old G4 and pocket 4 million! The person I worked for did this.

The "mission" was not filling airplanes and trying to turn a profit via the airplane itself.
In the airline world, Barry NEEDS the planes, if we are to believe all the previous investor calls and recurrent visits.

Indeed true but the "mission" of the owning entity (the corporation which owned the flight department) likely could have accomplished the big corporate mission (selling widgets, managing real estate investments, etc) via a G-IV or a G-V either way.
