ALPA assigned us their top negotiator. ALPA helped us get the most friendly mediator, and in record time. I do not believe for a second that we are merely an afterthought to the ALPA boys in VA

It is very sad. It's just like politics. No one is allowed to have their own opinion anymore. I come to work, do my job and go home, I never make any waves, and I do everything as my employer asks me to.

Why can't people on here just say, "I respectfully disagree". Instead, it is sad to see my fellow coworkers who hide behind an alias, because they would never out themselves, turn in to nothing more than school yard bullies. It's always that way though isn't it, no one would ever say these kinds of things to your face, but give them the anonymity of a message board and suddenly they have all of the answers.

So what? I am not allowed to single engine taxi the jet that I sign my name for anymore? What else am I not allowed to do because it doesn't please this message board? The last time I checked the FOM told us how to operate the aircraft.

It makes me sick to find out that I work with such bullies. We all have to realize that everyone in entitled to their own opinions, we don't have to agree with them, but you don't have to sink to this level... Why can't you just say, "I respectfully disagree.." It's sad that I have to give a manners class to a group of professional airline pilots.

Dude, it's called situational awareness. This is airline pilots central. The home of internet keyboard warriors. Your expectations of this message board must be lowered substantially. 98.9% of everything posted here is garbage. Very rarely is anything of value posted. There should be a disclaimer "for entertainment purposes only" at the top of the screen.

Hi Pilot5510, I'll see you in class. Here are the requirements for the iPad.

Approved iPads

Apple iPad Air 2
Apple iPad 4
Apple iPad Mini 3
Apple iPad Pro (if buying the 12.9 inch you will need to purchase a kneeboard strap for securing the iPad in flight)
16GB or higher

iPad 4 is still good (this is what I'm planning on using). They give you $$ for it, but you need the iPad before then. Also, you'll need a backup battery pack (the details of which we'll get in class).

Think this is outdated info. I'm pretty sure minimum device requirements are now:

iPad Air2 or newer with at least 32GB and Wifi capability. This would include the Pro 9.7 32GB or iPad Pro 12.9 32GB.

I'm getting this from a memo dated 11-11-16

Someone please chime in if I'm wrong.

A319 you want people to "respectfully" disagree with you posting on a public forum that other US Airbus opererators aren't our peers? That you are willing to accept substandard wages while in the middle of negotiations?

Saying such things on public forum do a disservice to those working hard on negotiations.

I can't "respectfully" disagree with those opinions.

Amen.

Someone who doesn't advocate for fair pay, refuses to show solidarity by simply wearing a lanyard, and then pretty much outright admits they are disconnected and don't care about these historic negotiations (see quote, "I come to work, do my job and go home, I never make any waves, and I do everything as my employer asks me to.") does not deserve respect.

I am not advocating for any work action, but in case you haven't noticed, A319, getting ground air hooked up takes an act of God in 99% of our stations. Never mind that when you pull in and wait 5 minutes for the GPU to be hooked up, ramp is mindlessly wandering around your idling engine. If you think the risks outweigh the couple of $$$ of fuel, and making our pax and FAs uncomfortable (as if their job isn't bad enough) is a better alternative than running the APU, then by all means, carry on.
