I have been out for the same amount of time, was the leave option the only thing you were not eligible for, or were there other things too?

"DEC: C5 vs PDT vs G7" I'm thinking about logical equivalencies:
Vacation: Summer at a beautiful lake beach house v. Winter Skiing in the Alps v. Cancer treatment in Hospice. (I recommend lake beach house.)
Career: Airline Pilot ending at Delta v. Military Pilot training ending at NASA v. First Lesson in a C-150 ending when instructor grabs the yoke crashes you into the sewer plant. (I recommend Delta.)
Risk Evaluation: Go back in time and sail on the Titanic unable to change its destiny v. Go back and enjoy the view from one of the twin towers on the morning of 9/11/2001 v. Becoming a GJ pilot and getting a 50k sign on bonus. (I recommend the Titanic.)

Thoughtful, and funny.
This Regional ****show is a lot like 'Groundhog Day' in reverse. Instead of using the our recent history to improve the next day, we just extend the bad and neglect the good.
And didn't Regional flying just exceed 50% of all domestic trips for the first time? The race to the bottom hasn't really changed yet, but it might.

Maybe all regionals require some sacrifice as does any job but the other airlines are not the same.
I was lucky to get an average daily credit on a line of 4.5 hours per day. Other regionals probably average well over 5 if you have any seniority. If you just use an average of .5 per day difference for 18 days that is a loss of 9 hours. So at Gojet a pilot has to work 2 days more per month for the same pay. That is 24 days a year that a pilot loses.
Flexibility at Gojet was zero. Your line was your line unless you found a person to swap.
The Union had no power. The union volunteers were trying their best but they just didn't know what they were doing. None of them lasted long as the company targeted them unless they worked more for the company and worked against the pilots. Hi Chris.
The Sword of Damocles was always hanging over your head held by a single hair. When my phone rang and I saw the number was from Saint Louis, I always wondered, "what did I do wrong, why are they calling me, why would they want to fire me?"
Gojet does many things to make things sound like they are the same as at other regionals. They have a 4 hour per day guarantee (small print, not on 1st and last day). They provide disability insurance of 2/3 of your pay (small print, up to 1000 per month.) They give you other airline longevity credit, so if you go there with 4 years of 121 experience you start at 5th year pay. (Small print, you stay at that pay until your hire date reaches that time, so you don't get the longevity pay increases until age 5).
All regionals are not the same.
