5 years from now, Capt will be retired, FO will be captain and on hiring board, the new fo will be TSA guy or any other regional guy, and gojet guy will be at gojet because no one wants to work with a back stabbing scumscab.

What about the GoJet guy that is on the hiring board? Or the United furlough that went to GoJet and is now back at United on the hiring board?

Because gojet has so many pilots, as opposed to everyone other regional. Ask any pilot at any other regional what they think of gojet and they say those guys are scum. I would not take my chances by going there.

But whatever logic makes you happy.

Those who know that the entire industry is asking them to not work somewhere, yet still take that job. Particularly when that job exists because it is created as an ulter-ego with lower pay.

They continue to know that it is wrong, but have to keep asking questions or making up reasons as to why it is ok.

Such as well furloughed UAL guys will help me, or its only TSA guys who care.

It is not just TSA guys, its most of the pilots across the regional industry.

Its very clear that working there will taint you to most people, stop trying to justify it.

Also CAL will be doing most UAL hiring for awhile, so good luck with your UAL buddies when they get recalled.

you guys crack me up. Tell me which airline should I have chosen to go to instead of Gojet? Tell me why as well, I mean according to you there are much better airlines to fly for so tell me which one.

UAL and CAL pilots are still operating under their respective seniority lists and work rules...not a single airline yet

Continental needed 200 pilots so they offered the positions to United pilots on furlough, that's what wingtips was refering to!

well yes and no.

They will do this till they need street pilots, which should be fairly soon, but at that point it will only be CAL doing the hiring.

If United needs pilot on their side, they still have like 1400 on furlough, that would be recalled back to UAL, its a complicated issue, but it would be a long time till UAL side hires.

Eventually both sides will be one list, but I would betcha its hiring in houston with the same CAL guys.

I dont think any gojet/UAL recalls will be on hiring at UALCAL anytime soon.

A large majority of UAL furloughs that were at GoJet are either already at CAL or will be starting class shortly.

Pros
-GoJet has the quickest upgrade and probably will remain number one for another year while the DCI flying increases.

Cons
-The current GoJet pay rates are close to average, but the GoJet pilot contract is probably the worst among regionals and it will probably be a long time until GoJet gets a new contract.

Con most other airline employees will hate you, you may face trouble jumpseating, you will get bad looks, and your resume will have a big turd stain on it. Also you will be a slut.

Why hate Gojets? Because TSA owner Hulas Kanodia told TSA ALPA he wants 70 seaters for X rate, and TSA ALPA told him to go pound sand, and he said, "Ok, I will!" and formed GoJets? I wouldn't exactly blame a TSA ALPA negotiation failure on GoJet's current pilots. Lets get over it. Your anger should be re-directed to ALPA for attempting to fight with zero leverage, and then getting screwed as a result.

You have no idea of the true story. This is like turning on the news and being told we went into Iraq because of terrorism!!! The Taliban in Iraq is why we INVADED them!

Yup, everytime you look at your W-2 form and realize that the guy working at Office Depot makes more money than you do and is home every night with his family...get over it. Some pilots tried to take a stand to keep wages liveable and to try and stop the 'race to the bottom' in an effort to improve pilot QOL, so get over it. Quit *****ing everybody!!! Get over it!!!

pitch mode 04-10-2012 06:10 AM

Simple supply & demand in a free market economy. Some people still instruct to be home every night. Some people like traveling and being away from home from time to time. Different strokes.....

As a fellow Eagle guy, I think it's disappointing that you just don't get it. Maybe you should do a little research on how GoJets was formed and imagine what it would be like if AMR did that to us via the Executive Certificate.

Not quite my friend.

The major two (publicly acceptable) reasons were : WMD's and to liberate the people from a dictatorship.

I bet you think Abraham Lincoln wanted to end slavery just because he was such a nice guy with a kind heart too...

But back to the wonderful world of aviation...You guys need to get over go jets, pay would still be crappy if they were alpa. Where is the guarantee that if go jets had not been created, that i would be driving a bimmer and own a 5 bedroom estate in upstate NY? Scapegoats will always be needed to justify why people are unhappy, and unfortunately an airline with a safety record that has been better than most others is slammed because they didn't wanna play with alpa.

Remember that Alpa article a few months back about how Eagle MEC's were securing their jobs and QOL for the future, and then a month later AMR declares bankruptcy? Yea. Alpa is no better than Gojets-its a pilot club with lawyer friends. Doctors and lawyers have an ALPA too, they are called country clubs.

Wait till they do something like this with the executive ticket, and you get furloughed because your job and airplane went to some street entry captain and low time toolbag.

It will be 70 years and you will still be ****ed, and complaining how this industry is not fair and no one takes a stand.

If you think that the United States, particularly the US AIRLINE industry, is FREE MARKET ECONOMICS. Oh man you need to go back to college and take some basic civic classes.

Funny, I'm not ****ed, and i don't complain about this industry. My only gripe is the pilot on pilot hateration. Within the last month I've seen on these forums the following airlines labeled as "the worst"; Pinnacle,Republic,Colgan, and go jets...it seems to me that most guys on here and in general don't know who to hate more, or is it an issue of your company sucks more than mine because 7 years ago they circumvented another pilot group.

Mesa and Freedom did it. But they were alpa.

Compass did it worse to NWA guys, NWA HR were at the interviews! New hires flew 727 sims!.But they were alpa.

Go jets did it to TSA and they weren't alpa.
I wonder who the genius was that decided we should be paid according to how many seats we have in a plane...instead of how big the airplane actually was....it seems as if that was ALPA too, but its all good.

Lets all hate go jets because they did it first, starting the trend.

I've always been curious, & it may have already been answered. Does GoJet really hire street Captains, or are they just Captain Qualified First Officers(CQFOs) like TranStates used to?

vtx531 04-10-2012 08:15 AM

Heard some gojetters bragging in the hotel lobby last night about being pilots and being total DBs. They are not scumbags in their own little world. As for the real world, it was hard to keep my mouth shut but I was able to do it. Also hard not to puke when I am parked next to one of them.

A free market is a market where prices are determined by supply and demand. Free markets contrast with controlled markets in which prices, supply or demand is directly controlled. Various economic theories require specific properties of free markets, for example, a perfect market with perfect information and perfect competition. Regulation which does not affect these specific properties can be in place without disqualifying the market as free under supply and demand.
Although free-markets are commonly associated with capitalism today, free markets have been advocated by socialists and have been included in various proposals for market socialism where market allocation of capital is combined with self management in enterprises, and employee-owned cooperatives or publicly-owned enterprises operate in free markets.
~Bockman, Johanna (2011). Markets in the name of Socialism: The Left-Wing origins of Neoliberalisme
What were the entities then, that stopped G7 from operating and displacing mainliners? Today's ASA18 SEA-MCO fares were from $52.17 to $1,916.05. What entitiy guided this?

Your right the industry isn't fair and I knew that well in advance of choosing this job. Wouldn't shock me at all if AMR tried something like that. Will I be ****ed at the company yes. Will I be ****ed about people that get hired there nope.

Please explain how Freedom Airlines was no different than Gojets

The only thing I'm seeing different is the union representation-GJ had none.

From an outsider looking in, that's all it appears to be: a bunch of pro-union pilots ****ed that there exists an airline without ALPA representation.
