Cue the Trans Haters for claiming he was "hiding" his badge in 3....2....1

CaptainCarl needs to get a life. The GoJet thing doesn't matter to anybody at the legacies. Sh*t, most of my connections in the industry don't even know half of the regionals out there today, and still think of them all as a place to get 1000TPIC in a matter of 2 years and bail...

FDX8891 02-24-2013 11:06 AM

The whole badge thing too...What is with that? 99% of the time my badge is accidentally turned around anyways without me noticing. Guess high school really never ends.

JetMonkey 02-25-2013 08:11 AM

Had a Gojet fo on my jumpseat to STL yesterday. Nice guy, been there one year. Said the upgrades are going about that long over there.

CaptainCarl 02-25-2013 11:34 AM

Never.

Unless G7 gets anymore new flying the quick upgrade has IMHO come to a screeching halt. They are hiring for attrition and they are actively looking for new flying. However in comparison to other airlines the time to upgrade is still much shorter than any other regional. If you have the time chances are that upgrade will be under a year. New hire bases are hit and miss but the nice thing about G7 is they will let you try to bid for the base you want every month and if there is an opening you will get it. If you have to be at a regional G7 is a good place to be.

I have seen numerous examples in just the past few months that would disprove that. I've also watched a good number of gojet jumpseaters left behind because of what their alter-ego airline stands for. (From both mainline and regional carriers). Maybe fewer mainline guys care, but there are those that do. (And the number is growing every day as more regional guys move up and educate their co-workers)

TBucket 02-25-2013 02:22 PM

Also, in a few months, TSA will be upgrading 2012 hires due to many of the recent newhires not having the time to upgrade... If you have the time, why not avoid the controversy entirely? TSA > G7

I think TSA isn't a bad place to be at all. I have met many great TSA guys/ gals. IMHO each person has to choose which place is best for you and your family.

Name the instances you're referring to pal.

Guess who's got interviews lined up?

Thanks for your advice.

Agreed, claiming examples without specific examples is baseless.

Dejavu 02-25-2013 06:58 PM

How about stay on topic with updates on the company pls ? Lol geesh

Is there a march class ?

Yes. A new hire and an upgrade class (I believe). There's been a bit of attrition. Pilots have left for virgin, spirit, US Airways, and UAL in the last month.

vagabond 02-25-2013 07:57 PM

Mod Note:

Stay on topic, boys and girls. The topic, in case you've forgotten, is updates for Go Jets, not jumpseaters being left behind and other such ridiculous nonsense.

I'll be back tomorrow morning to clean up, but my little dog needs to go wee wee right now.

What are the mins for upgrade?

Desert Sky 02-25-2013 09:28 PM

I brought it up in this thread because someone else last page said at TSA there would be quick upgrades because a lot of the new hires in 2012 didn't have the time. Hence the question, what are the upgrade times at TSA?

Is there a march class ?

Yes, there is. We have a new hire class and an upgrade class once a month.

Most of the new hires at G7 are ex Comair guys or soon to be ex 9E guys. Believe it or not, most captains here are very professional.

Pilotguy143 02-26-2013 03:07 AM

Maybe I am being nieve, but can't we all just get along?

Now that TSA is growing rapidly (which you guys deserve) your upgrade time will be comparable to G7. Both companies are doing well and aren't bad places to be until we can get on with a major.

32LTangoTen 02-26-2013 05:33 AM

Bernoulli, I'd love to talk to you about your career at gojet. Can you check your PM messages please.

If it were to, I'd hope you're adding the crew o2 and the Jumpseat to the list of deferrals. Otherwise you're flying a broken airplane and intentionally disregarding safety....

Again - it doesn't happen, save for the Internet.

Not that I have a dog in this JS war between you guys but that would be simple enough to do at an outstation since the company wouldn't want to pay for outside contractor to provide the O2.

Back to our topic of upgrade times and classes at G7

I just want the membership to know that I came back this morning and deleted a number of posts that had nothing to do with the topic. I tole you all I would do that.

I didn't give out reminders or infractions this time, but I might be inclined later on if I see the same nonsense. Check out this thread in Cargo - http://www.airlinepilotforums.com/ca...ml#post1360568

Anybody know how far down are the classes being assigned to new hires? April, May?

Not sure. We have a class going every month, however.

you should delete this post and consider giving yourself an infraction because this second paragraph has nothing to do with the thread.

Yes, I thought GJ threads were the worst offenders for off topic posts, and thus received the most threats not to deviate from the exact issue of the original post.

I think I have a real Doosey for the mods...give me about 30 minutes so I can use my computer (when my wife is done) :)

What were his times? Qualify for captain?

ENCCFI 03-03-2013 05:37 PM

According to their website, new hires are responsible for transportation and housing at training. Is this true, still? Also, does it pay @ 1st year rate x only 60 hrs while in training? That being the case, you can be in the hole after first month. Tough if you have bills to pay.

8hourrule 03-03-2013 05:41 PM

GoJet updates

Company pays for your hotel. 1300ish a month while in training.

Flitestar 03-03-2013 06:17 PM

How long does it usually take between the moment you apply and actually getting the call?

Different experience for me. My airlineapps app for gojet was initially submitted over a year ago. My gojet page with info like flight hours, and date available for start of employment were all over a year old when they called me for interview. Kinda Weird. typically an airline that doesn't have a hard time finding pilots won't offer an interview to someone who's app hasn't been updated for over a year. But my experience only speaks for myself as 1 person and not for everyone applying.

Flitestar 03-04-2013 04:24 AM

Good info, thx.

Ultralight 03-06-2013 08:31 AM

Could somebody please take the time to post a non biased summary of GoJets. The good, the bad and the ugly. I know there is some basic info on APC, but how about, training, travel & health benefits, cancelation pay, bidding, trip trades, commuter clause (or lack thereof.) etc.

Also, if anyone every has been refused the jumpseat, please share the story. Not trying to start a fire with this, but if it does really happen, it should be something to consider. For someone thinking of applying with the intention to commute, this rumor needs to be either verified, or put to bed.

Its a shame that every time we get close to sharing some useful information, the thread gets shut down by a miniature schnauzer. (Although some of those captions were hilarious!)

Flitestar 03-06-2013 09:01 AM

Dude, pro tip: ask if any GoJet/antigojet cat would be willing to PM u to ask a few about the company. This is the most effective, drama free, no bs approach.

Even if you don't wanna try to start a fire, it's almost inevitable when you ask a broad question like that, specially the JS part. Not ur fault tho, it's just how this whole subject has evolved.

Give it a shot, worked wonders for me...

Fair point, but I had the crazy idea that since Transtates was hiring / upgrading now, and its quite apparent that GoJets is here to stay, it might be time to spill the beans.
Instead of closing the thread, maybe the mods can just police it and delete any flame bait.

Or, if anyone would like to PM me with the skinny I would appreciate it.

The real shame is that APC posters are unable to follow a simple set of rules and the mini-schnauzer has to get involved? ;)
