I would love to see US 121 carriers allow facial hair! I left a regional around 4 years ago for my current flying job that allows facial hair. That was the last day I have shaved, other than trimming my neck and cheeks. Everybody says I look way better with a beard (it's nicely trimmed) and I've been told multiple times it makes me look more mature. My skin is sensitive and I dread the day I have to start shaving daily again!

With the exception of classified operations and poet-pilots, sensitive pilot seems an oxymoron, not that your sensitive snowflake pilot friends are morons. Or oxy's. Or moronic poets who do classified things, because if so, we couldn't really talk about it.
Count #2: Classified, no clue. Covert, what's happy hour without a secret or 20? Beard optional.

A study done by Air Canada, before they allowed their pilots to have groomed facial hair:

Doesn't address cultural or brand image issues... still have to deal with those.

Every time I hear someone say, "at the regionals..." it reminds me of kids who describe back in the day, when they were in kindergarten.
There does come a point when one needn't make an effort to look more mature; one simply is more mature, and doesn't need to advertise that.
If we have pilots in cockpits who need a beard to look mature enough to fly the airplane, perhaps we simply need more mature pilots.

If it takes a beard to make you look more mature, you're quite possibly one of those who adds "and a half" when stating your age.

No matter how “mature” I acted, it still looked like I was there on a “take your son to work” day.
I couldn’t have grown a beard then but made up for that later.
