I took it as a statement of both.

the legality of MJ is simply a reflection of outdated notions of its danger. While testing remains a challenge in practical terms, there’s no reason recreational use among safety sensitive employees is more of a problem than alcohol use, and most definitely not because of abuse potential.

One is legal for people in safety sensitive positions. The other is not.
Does not matter what your views are of whether the notion is outdated or not.
Until that changes - METO Guido is right.

nobody is arguing that it is or isn’t currently legal. We all know it’s not legal. The question is whether it SHOULD be, and there’s almost zero argument against it that (notwithstanding practical testing issues of today) isn’t rooted in outdated fearmongering and misunderstanding of addiction.

I saw a large haze in the air around this thread and decided to stop by again. Folks all wrapped around the axle worrying about this? Congratulations! You have either arrived in life and your only concern now is getting a buzz on or a high, or...you really need to find a good hobby or book to read. All so very silly! Got to run now. Eyes watering and throat is raspy.

I'm fine with legalizing as long as employers can restrict safety-sensitive employees from using it period.

Marijuana is a drug consumed for only one purpose, altering your mental state. Centuries of perfection has made alcohol, in hundreds of forms is enjoyed without the mind altering. I love a simple Scotch or a glass of wine, sober enough to drive and meet a judge. In 12 hours, I’m testable and clean without question of intoxication.

We tried that. The right way. By constitutional amendment. It didn’t work out. We repealed it. The right way. By constitutional amendment.
