Marijuana is a drug consumed for only one purpose, altering your mental state. Centuries of perfection has made alcohol, in hundreds of forms is enjoyed without the mind altering. I love a simple Scotch or a glass of wine, sober enough to drive and meet a judge. In 12 hours, I’m testable and clean without question of intoxication.

It depends on the quantity consumed, easily enjoyed without altering one’s state, yes. A shot of Talisker’s isn’t mind altering. The only point to consuming marijuana is to alter the mind. It’s a weed whose only use is mind altering.

The threshold is high. No way you'll hit it from brief (or slightly longer) exposure to second-hand smoke. I did leave a party once because it got so thick that I started to worry (walking home I noticed that 40 years of athletic injuries had somehow vanished for the rest of the evening).

a 5mg edible isn’t mind altering, either. At least, not meaningfully differently from the glass of scotch.

Really, you could argue the same thing about alcohol as well, including a nice scotch. Someone can say the exact same thing that you do about your scotch about their favorite strain and how it smells, etc.

You do any challenging thing and yes, one shot is absolutely mind altering. When the body is at rest, you are unlikely to notice significant effects (that are still there), but you put some strain on it, absolutely. I'm not saying shot makes you stone drunk, but if you don't think it alters your mental state, you are naive.

This is simply a form of begging the question. The DOT test for Cannabis has nothing to do with intoxication. It detects metabolytes up to weeks after use. The thing is, there are substantially similar tests for alcohol. Never been a HIMS participant, but my understanding is that they use a liver enzyme test which detects prior alcohol use for a week or more. If that test was used for the random tests for alcohol by the DOT, there's be a whole bunch of fired pilots too. So if you think that Alcohol is somehow superior to cannabis because cannabis use can be detected for a longer proper of time, you're mistaken, because alcohol use too may be detected for weeks if a different test is used.

And you take yourself way too seriously over the use of weed. Opinions are just that, opinions. Not facts! You state your opinions, others state theirs. They are all just personal opinions in this thread and nothing more. You are no more of an expert here than anyone else posting in this thread. Unless! You stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night!
