UN adjusts carbon offset scam for airlines

or we all can be responsible for our role in pollution and not turn it into penalties and revenues designed to line pockets, support narratives and never really fix the problem. It should have nothing to do with politics, it should be about individuals, businesses, industries and governments taking personal responsibility. Carbon-credit will not solve the pollution problem because they make money from managing the credits, just like the cancer industry will not cure cancer because they make money managing it. But hey, it’s much easier to do nothing and just hypocritically blame others because they don’t support a political point of view.
people can always feel holier-than-thou by doing nothing and yelling loudly.

Like I said, it shouldn’t be about politics but about teaching people to do the right thing, but you can’t help yourselves. Spouting a narrative requires no effort and has no other effect than to display a false social superiority.

keep in mind that you were the one who mentioned the “left” in the comment I originally responded to. So if you want it to not be about politics, maybe don’t make it about “left”

I’m fully in favor of having businesses pay for the real externalities of their pollution. I’m not sure how that’s any narrative other than one of personal responsibility and integrity.

an example would be an environmental protest where the focus is industry but the protestors leave it trashed. That’s not a helpful mindset.

it needs to extend beyond business and include individuals. Like those who throw their stuff on the ground, trash their own neighborhoods, etc.

I've heard this before a few months ago w.r.t COVID. Let's take a look at how our economy and QOL are doing right now...
