Its the full cow jacket with the American flag tie and show up 3 minutes prior to push and still take 2 minutes to BS with the FA's. Always a pleasure to fly with americas greatest generation :D:D:D

oh and if you asked them to fly a single leg not using V/S they would have an aneurysm

V/S is the most underutilized button on the MCP. I do a pretty good knee jerk reaction when I revert to Prussian Air Marshal when a newbie hits felch in the terminal environment for a 1000’ change of altitude.

We have senior guys that do that too...

What airplane? Level change works in a Boeing.

Don’t need to dive it down at 250 for a 1000 foot change I think is his point

And I think the fact that the Boeing will do a nice, gentle descent in FLCH, even for 1000' altitude changes, was Mudhammed's point.

I seem to recall something about a "2 minute rule"?

I agree. I do it sometimes too. Not a big deal.

No it is a big deal, because nobody is as good a pilot as they are. Because even though there are about a gazillion ways to descend 1000 feet, their way is the best and everyone else is dumb.
