So you post on APC that flying is bad for the environment? Did I get that right?
Doosh. TOTD. For future reference, if you find yourself having to put words in a poster's mouth which they didn't actually say, in order to find a justification for calling them names, you're the problem in that scenario. |
You obviously need to spend some quality time with F/As discussing what they are responsible for in back. One of the things they do while boarding is mentally choosing people who they think would be Able Bodied Passengers (ABPs) in case they need assistance.
By IDing yourself to them they know they have at least one TRAINED ABP they can rely on. Do I really need to hook up with an F/A I'll never see again? Nope. I'll leave that for you Tinder browsing millennials out there. |

You should also go to an NRA convention and tell them that guns are bad for people.
Or a big car show and say that car accidents kill people. Instead of complaining about fuel burn rates on APC, why don't you write an email to the CSAF and dime out your USAF "brethren" who are so cruel to the environment. In fact, write your Congressmen and tell them your Wing needs less of a fuel budget for the year so you can fly Best Endurance everywhere you go. Tell 'em it is better for the Environment... |

Did you know that your cleared mach can be amended, just like any other element of a clearance?
The post I responded to indicated the choice to speed up on the NATS was made "because nobody is stopping them" - not as result of an amended clearance or request to change speed. |

How about they're violating their oceanic clearance by not flying the cleared mach number.....it ain't optional.
And, that's speaking as a guy who unwittingly flew non-RVSM military fighter aircraft up in RVSM altitudes for years without realizing how many hoops ATC had to jump through to clear everyone out of my way. It was pretty much like requesting a 4k block altitude and 10nm ring around my plane, coast to coast. Whoops. Nobody told us that's how it was, and I didn't realize how effed up it was until a decade later. Sorry guys... "make way, superpower coming through". Oops. |

You don't control how your fighter is equipped by Uncle Sam. If you need to get from A to B without a tanker, what choice do you have? Go to FL450, get direct and I'll bet no one will even know your were there.
But again yes, mission accomplishment was the first priority and if we weren't equipped to do the mission in a way that was ATC friendly, that wasn't our problem. Superpower, coming through. |
