Yes it is, and opinions will differ on what crosses the line. Moderators decide, and any disagreement with the decision can only be expressed via a PM (to a different Mod, if desired). Arguing about it on the forum pages is considered a serious violation of forum rules.
If you see a bad post, use the “report post” triangular icon at the lower left. Do not quote it or reply to it with a bad post of your own.
This thread demonstrates how even “mildly” political posts cause problems, by triggering responses which are worse, in a chain reaction.

The United Airbus captain today from IAH to PHL who shooed me with his hand because he thought I worked for an express carrier and then in every announcement he made referred to the flight as "United mainline". It was super douchey especially in the last one on descent when he used it at least 3 times... "It's been a pleasure having you on this United mainline flight. On behalf of the entire United mainline team, thank you for flying United mainline. We hope to see you again on another United mainline flight."

I mean... Jeebus... How obsessed can one be?

I'm sorry, normally I wouldn't say anything, but getting the wave of the hand shooing me was too much.
