Should have told him it’s the scope section in his contract that allows for outsourced RJs. I shed no tears for him getting bumped off an RJ. He sold that job to the lowest bidder.

What major carrier has relaxed scope in the past 10-15 years with new contracts? How long have you been in the industry?
It's STILL out there. Granted, not as bad as during the dark decade and bankruptcies, but there's still mainline pilots that vent their misdirected ire/angst on regional pilots.

Priority in the cabin is debatable, mainline owns the cabin. Your JS should be yours, so yes he's a tool.

Hope you got HIS name and contacted your JS committee.

Me too, if my first officer said it I would laugh and then tell them never again. It's hilarious. Once.

What did that have to do with mainline pilots still selling out scope?

The plug has been put in place and mainline pilots are all trying to get back the flying. Wonder where you would wind up if all that flying was brought back in house?

A Jumpseat debate is separate from a scope debate. The shell game that is played for the Jumpseat by especially the Skywest folks is a huge land grab. Perhaps this will all be fixed someday. But in the end I suspect you would rather be in the mainline cockpit versus the RJ for your career. Maybe you would have a different opinion about Jumpseat’s if you sat in a different cockpit.

And what does that say about the pilots willing to work for the lowest bidder?
