On the other end of that spectrum, we were on a 28-hr. West Coast layover many years ago.
During sign-in at the hotel, when the captain announced what the van time would be the next afternoon, one of the F/A's began whining about why we had to leave the hotel so early, and couldn't we leave 20 minutes later?
On a 28-hr. layover.

NASA for allowing themselves to get sucked into that Mayan Apocalypse prediction nonsense by producing a video.
Hate to slam them but have they nothing else better to do with taxpayer money ?
I guess a lot of people forgot about the bust that was Y2K .
