Well, there are two ways to go about it: you can see the guy is new, be a dude, exercise some secure authority, and spool the guy up step by step so he actually learns something, or you can be an insecure, abrasive, think he knows it all douchebag that nobody likes and winds up on every no-fly list from Florida to Washington State.

All kidding aside though NU, the NO FLY list punishes who during line construction? That's right, the FO. It's a cruel system.

I nominate this guy as TOTD First day on the job buddy is a little overwhelming but I'm sure you've never been nervous about anything ever

+1. Well put NU. There will always be these types. As long as they knew ahead of time the FO is new, then there should be an aura of understanding, especially those entering their first 121 gig.

Are you serious? So next time I walk off the plane so upset that I'm shaking, I should just take that the guy was teaching me something. I'm sure you've never read back a clearance wrong either. Keep in mind that none of the others had me this upset before, and several months later, when I flew with him again, we had the exact same problems...
