I, unfortunately had the displeasure of being his First Officer for one single day in the early 1990's on an MD-80, during the inglorious near career ending CALite experiment. His missionaries were sicked on me only days after our flights, where I engaged with a few curled eyebrow, sideways questions about his faith, which he brought up repetitively. I am sure they were attempting my "conversion".
and L-UAL pilots wonder why L-CAL guys don't wan't their personal phone numbers and addresses published... |

Yes, I went through initial training and I now have a 757/767 type with no restrictions. I could be a captain, but I am a first officer because others got here first. When I make captain, it will be due to time. The title isn't merit based, therefore, it isn't "earned."

Tool runner up. Please find another career since you seem to hold your present one in such low regard. At a time when we need to be restoring our pay and working conditions, a "management" wannabe comes along.
The crashpad is vacant today for a change... :D |

Show me a fork lift operator that has a folder containing a liability insurance coverage statement equal or more than my piece of equipment.
Mine is $1,000,000,000 That's right, one Billion. One more thing. Try carrying yourself like a fork lift operator instead of a leader around a crew of 10 Flight Attendants, 3 Gate Agents, 2 Mechanics, 1 Crew Chief, a company hack Dispatcher and station manager, a pilot pushing Chief Pilot, 200+ passengers, all pushing their own agenda. Let me know how it works out. I've been the FO for leadership voids like the above situation. It degenerates real quickly into public school class with a weak substitute teacher. Runner up Tool? Yup. |
There is a story out there that the first time the Eastern MEC Chairmen met Frank Borman he addressed him as Mister Borman. Borman then asked to be called "Col. Borman". The MEC Chairman than pulled out his military ID and said "Fine, you can call me General". Don't know if it is true but I hope so
