Tool of the day

To clarify, first amendment dos not apply to APC or any other business or private entity. I nominate anybody you screechs about first amendment rights without actually understanding the constitution as today's TOTD!
Political topics which directly relate to aviation (ie labor laws, 1500 rule) are allowed.
However PARTISAN political discussions are not allowed at all because they have a very predictable trajectory which were all familiar with.
There is a bit of a fine line to walk to stay within the spirit of the rule, and of course some folks can't walk that line.
Can we get back to tools now?

It just reads wonky... Comparing what IB might censor here vs what China might censor.
The ONLY way comparing China would be valid is if we were talking about the US government censoring something.
That was my point.

The United pilot climbing out of LAX telling center:
"United ### . . . burning gas."
ZLA: I'm sorry, say again?
"Goin' to Mexico City . . . "
ZLA: I'm sorry what is the request?
"Requesting a CLIMB."
Back to instrument rating. "Requesting higher when able" would have saved talking on a busy frequency.

Not the best way, but an attempt to educate a controller and IMHO, not quite tool-worthy.
My favorite from last winter and an evening rush hour arrival into BOS. A JetBlue guy asks approach what his sequence was because they were "turning into a pumpkin"
ATC asks if he's declaring minimum fuel.
JB: No, we are close to duty time limits for our next flight out.
They gave this clown priority.

tool of the day.....the guy that wished Toronto Center a "happy 4th of July" when handed off.
cool of the day....the Houston Center controller that enthusiastically wished British Airways a "happy 4th"

It was fine with Maiquetia Center, but he ended up with silence saying the same greeting when calling Manaus, Brazilia and Sao Paulo centers for 6+ hours
