Correct. I wouldn't dare to openly criticize someone's PA announcement; that's just rude. However, I still cringed inwardly when I heard it. At 0630 on a Monday morning, the last thing anyone wants to hear is a full description of your route clearance for your 30-minute flight...

I wonder why attorneys get such a bad rap.

My my, our hero!

This wonder boy instead of maybe having some intestinal fortitude of his own and facing the pilot in question about his gripe, shoots video of the incident and THEN; makes sure he selfies a picture of himself to be included in the press article that is his goal for personal attention out of this.

This drain plug is consuming valuable O2 for no reason!

The last part of the article says it best. He couldn't play with his toys, so he's ****ed. He's going to make an example out of everyone. Hey, "Mr. Follow The Rules", I believe American Airlines has a strict policy forbidding anyone to photograph or video employees or inside the airplane.

Did I say I wear a backpack, no I simply stated that UAL in their FOM ALLOWS people to carry a backpack if they so choose. I choose not to because I don't care for the look... Until I can afford to get the smaller flight bag I want I carry a laptop case with the things I need... I also utilize my reimbursements to have my shirts dry cleaned and starched so that they look professional, and have my shoes polished before every trip. Come October 15th I will be donning my hat and coat again as required in my FOM, at my last "regional trash/puke/unprofessional" airline whatever you want to call me I was required to wear the hat year round and did so both as an FO and a Captain.

Thanks for the professionalism rant "Captain Happy..."

In the bigger sense that he's describing - and that you missed entirely because you saw it as a personal attack against YOU - he's right.

TOADs (Tool of Any Day)

Anyone who uses the term "Sonny", "Son", "Sonny boy" or the like in a transparent attempt to belittle someone they don't like or disagree with. Psycologically speaking, it's actually a very revealing sign of immaturity and insecurity as well.

Examples...

Same thing can be said for someone who calls another on this forum "Gramps" or similar. It's a two way street. Remember that.

Totally false statement. At MOST, you'll see maybe 2 to 3 people in first class with a back pack. That's nowhere near your 50% of an average 12 to 22 seat first class cabin.

Flew a segment from ATL to DAL last week with a whole buncha 'Bama fans going to the game. The Captain is an Auburn guy but he had the class to make a PA and wish them all luck...with a "War Eagle" thrown in at the end. We could hear the "boos" and laughter and cheering in the cockpit.

College football, keep beat the intensity and spirit of it. ROLL TIDE! :D

Keep your backpack on

In other words you can have a backpack... You just can't wear it on your back! :-)

That's nothing....DAL tells us to "Keep our backpacks on!";):D

Guys going into DTW and not knowing how to fly a offset loc. I also nominate my self for telling them on the radio that they can fly one in green needles on the crj. Probably not the most professional on my part.

How did you have time to do that between your guard policing calls?
