Another US example of unprofessional behavior from US Regional Air Carriers. Pathetic little boys playing on a radio that may be needed for an emergency.

That's a quick way to get FOQA pulled from the airline.

You clearly don't understand the FOQA program.

The irony of someone posting something like this in a thread titled, "Tool of the day."

Worst one I've heard was about 2 weeks ago where somebody was saying "GUUUAAARRRDD" about once every 30 seconds for 5-10 minutes. Finally took a guy saying "your FO should have a spine and learn to speak up and you should set the example" to get them to stop. (Either from laughter or shame.. Probably laughter.)

It's alright to have a little fun every now and then but when you have to switch off 2 because there's so much "work work work work" it's a problem.

Anyone who has a gun on the flight deck is lacking something in their pants to compensate for.
Troll la troll la troll!

Yes, ironically our own fantasizing domestic "extremists" are the ones who want to carry in the cockpit, and would react to a minor challenge of their beliefs by going full-blown crazy when an adult tells them there is no Santa. These are the people you'd LEAST want to have guns in the cockpit. Yeah, it is a catch-22.

Think about that last odd super-religious pilot you last flew with. Substitute God with Allah, and give him a gun to carry around. No thanks.

I sometimes stop listening to 121.5 en route for this reason. It is hard for me to distinguish radio 1 from 2 from sound alone in my craft and the chatter drives me nuts. If center asks for ELT listen I always turn it back on.

Did I mention the 290 KIAS at 8,000'?

Amazingly enough, I witnessed all this on a single trip. I kept looking around for a hidden camera, waiting for Ashton Kutcher to pop up and scream, 'You've been punk'd!'

Not to start a hat war, as I know that certain mainline guys are required to wear the hat. But I've noticed a correlation between tool-dom and hat wearing.

Of course, I've encountered tools who weren't wearing a hat. And I have flown with great guys who happened to have a hat. But it's my decidedly unscientific observation that when a guy shows up with a hat (God forbid, especially the ones who are wearing a hat, but just the white shirt -- no jacket or blazer), then you're more likely to be in for a lonnng trip.

And wearing your hat indoors at the LaQuinta breakfast buffet...it just defies belief, really.

And finally, there needs to be some kind of reg prohibiting regional FOs (myself included) from wearing a hat. Ever...

And I'm sure a judgemental guy like yourself is just a real pleasure to fly with. Let me guess, you sit there and make fun of everyone else because you're so perfect. Meanwhile all your Captains are silently thinking what a tool. That said, wearing a hat at breakfast is a little goofy.

I love it when people like you make false facts to get a point across. Watch out everyone FOQA is gonna catch ya "ON GUARD"!!

You find the Scripture quotations normal? Really?
