Interestingly, if one were seeking to implement communism and/or totalitarian gov't a la East Germany behind the Iron Curtain, this is a great way to go about doing it without ever having to fire a shot or fight for the takeover.
Of course, at the same time you'd want to militarize the police forces, politicize all the departments of gov't (IRS, EPA, Justice, State) etc.
But none of that has been happening in America. I'm just a tool for thinking it has.

I have a nomination for tool of the day
My neighbor and friend of 10 years, also a Delta pilot.
I have had an app in at Delta for over 10 years. I recently wanted to refresh my online app by updating my LOR'S. So I ask my "good buddy" if he would be willing to update his LOR for me. He says NO......Why?
Because 4 years ago, We went on vacation with him and his wife. A bareboat charter. Because we had planned it for over 6 months and I couldn't get the week off at my crappy regional, I called in sick.
So he can't "in good conscience" recommend anyone who would abuse sick policy.
THAT is where the term "douchbag" originates from

Easy gramps. The sky isn't falling. What's funny about some older folk is they believe that somehow every generation before them didn't think the same exact thing. You aren't special. America is fine. The world turns. People can be gay, do drugs, not believe in some version of God, and try and combat global warming and it will be okee dokee m'kay

LOL
I'm not even old enough to be a grandfather yet.
That's not what people like you are saying as they eyeball Trump and Cruz.
Polls show the overwhelming majority of Americans disagree with you.
People can be straight, refuse to do drugs, believe in God, and recognize that "scientific consensus" has a history of failure and it will all be okee dokee m'kay

You ARE the layperson.

What do other "contexts" have to do with it? To belabor the obvious, in the field of aviation, especially on a website named "Airline Pilot Central", you are indeed the layperson you speak of.

You fellow seniors nailed it!

You seem to have a fetish about Fox news and why you brought that non-related item up in a response is very odd but also very telling to me. Do you really think I pay attention to Fox news or any other news source as non-biased? Flash! No news source is non-biased. Why don't you tell us what just the right news source is so we can all be as enlightened as you are.
