I'll add to the TSA stories. The lovely agent demanded my coffee go through the screener. Long story short let's say after my luggage came through the belt the coffee not the cup were coming out the other side

Question.....why would YOU take liquid through security? And why would SHE even think to allow this? So who's the tool?

Um, If hes in uniform he can carry coffee through the checkpoint.

The Mesaba guys in DTW really got into it...REALLY got into it. I heard from them that it started on the civilian side at Lakes Air in Denver, but originated from prior military controllers.

I don't see a problem with "seeeeeee yaaaa" it breaks up the monotony of work day transmissions.

While that guy is a definate tool, what suffering are you referring to exactly? Many years ago sure, but not now. Not even close.
