It actually works quite well for airliners...in the sim.

For the record when it almost happened to the L-ASA CRJ200 a few years ago in ATL, the aircraft was IIRC about 4,000' MSL and it rolled 140 degrees. The crew rolled it back upright and continued the landing. They're never went all the way around and in the process also lost about 1000'.

UPS pilot trying to bring non-crewmember travelling companion through KCM. I thought by now, as a group, we would have evolved past this kind of ignorance.
