I got my clearance from center this morning and proceeded to make my first traffic advisory on center.

Should have added a "any other traffic in the area please advise" to complete the party foul.

hillbillies just hanging out chatting on the Unicom. "Hey Bob is that you....Yeah Joebob it's me what are you doing........" drives me up the wall.

My new pet peeve from a long cross country this weekend in our plane listening to other "professional pilots". Learn to SPEAK CLEARLY AND enunciate. Several different pilots calling in and speaking like they had a big dip of poop in their mouths. Twice the controller had to ask what they said. They must have thought it was cool to trail off their sentence into intelligible crap that no one could understand.

Does this really happen ?! Where at ? The way you say it almost sounds like they aren't even in the air.

Hillbillies - yes. Usually friends flying at the same time, unbeknownst to one another. Or (this really happened) a guy aloft talking to his FBO buddy on Unicom - then decides to do a pattern altitude flyover of the field, while I'm in the pattern. Pretty dangerous.

As far as the second type - not in my area. (SE).

What should be the right terminology to use when one controller hands you off to another?

Like Maimi Center says "contact Maimi App at ...." Or the controller says change over to my freq at xxx.xx

Critter123, 10,000. Alpha.

or

Delta123, on frequency.

on a side note, it's ATC not a DJ competition..... no need for the sing sang or Talk show host voice....

Also, Skywest kids who say "Hey Ground or Hey Tower, Skywest123"
