Terms that annoy you on the radio

Which is my point. That sounds nice and dandy in 1995, but it's 2013 and these systems ARE the future. As good as I wish the eyeballs were, they are pretty crappy, and time spent searching for something that may be readily available by another means or at least found MUCH faster using modern technology is not only wasted time, it might get you into a much worse situation than that one guy that was painted by center, as you crash into something else that wasn't "painted" or make some other error. You are absolutely correct, the controllers don't care what you have, they live in a box and the only thing they see is their display. Yes, you should say "negative contact" and "traffic in sight", but the ability to see and avoid a collision course well in advance is where this technology is taking us/has brought us, and there isn't really a good way to rectify that yet between the pilots and controllers. Maybe when it gets more standardized.

Why does the most popular mileage report on final have to be eight out? ....wait for it....... but it seems that's the one I hear most.
Also I would rather have you "with me" than "against me"
On a more serious note: James you got it right. Traffic in sight, runway in sight or looking/negative contact is all I need. I think I see it, I'm sure I'll see it soon have him on TCAS does nothing.

For a lot of airlines, the use of radio slang such as "roger" & "wilco" are prohibited per ops specs. Plus, I don't use them for my own protection. I'm not getting hung out to dry by the FAA or my airline for being vague.

Wilco and roger are not slang and are great when used correctly.
