Two things....
1) Due to SEC rules they cannot legally give out information such as "what plane is going to be ordered for interisland. What is going to happen to the 321's" etc. That is why we never hear a truly legit plan, only "we're looking at it" or " no plans yet". Of course they have a plan. They've had a plan since before they announced the purchase. They didn't buy an airline with the intent of figuring it out 2 yrs after the purchase. That's just common sense.
2) They certainly aren't going to divulge widebody plans for SEA, or divulge routes, so Delta can get the jump on them.
Expecting completely solid information, as facts, during these "town Halls" simply cannot happen. Everything will be generalized and vague. Just go with it. If you're a HA pilot, just be happy we are with a much stronger leadership team, and consider ourselves lucky the last leadership team "left to spend more time with family".

From the town hall yesterday
1. Expecting 50 new hires for the rest of the year
2. 717 replacement will not be regional jet - will be flown by mainline jet (still loooking for suitable candidates) 3-5 years left on 717 usage (again lol).
3. Inter island overnights are staying for now.
4. Airbuses are here to stay.
5. Widebody fleet & routes will likely grow in the future. Alaska wants international expansion.
6. No plans for Seattle base for Hawaiian pilots.
7. "Hawaiian" Callsign uncertain. (prob gonna go away)
So far - I'm liking what I'm hearing
.... except #7

Also not sure the range on the 318 is good for all west coast-HI ops.
Plus they're all probably as old as the 717's.

What’s the market like for 319s? Prior to the merger it seemed like that was the direction the yacht club seemed to be headed.

There's also a NEO option, unlike the 318, so it could be a long-term solution.

There is a hint of sarcasm there. But same type rating so nothing to prevent a plane swap then a victory lap. Maybe a 2 hour sit too for good measure.
