I turned down interview yesterday. Told them 36/hr was insulting for 1st year pay...it was scheduled since April. They send you the itinerary a week early. It's 2 days at Ohana East with food vouchers to Duke's and Hula grill. You can also bring your wife, but have to pay for her ticket. Good luck to anyone getting interviews.

What's sad is they don't care... there will always be someone that will step into that interview slot and gladly take that job at $36hr and they will still not have any problems getting those 100 or so pilots they need this year.

And at some point, I hope people don't show up for class or and I hope people show up just for a burger and beer in Waikiki for free and snub the offer.

Folks I need some help.
Trying to reschedule an interview, I've written a couple emails already to their generic careers email address that they've been using so far to coordinate the interview but I get no reply.
Would any kind soul be able to PM me another email address or phone number I can call in order to try to get it done?
Not trying to cold-call HR to get an interview or anything, I can send proof of this via PM if needed. I just need to reach someone in order to reschedule due to unforeseen event overseas.
Thanks all.

They have already had 3 wash this year. If they keep that mentality that number will only rise.

Most intelligent employers try to hire the best and the brightest by offering packages which will attract these type of candidates.
Hawaiian prefers the "starve for a year" types because management is that stupid.
For some reason "you get what you pay for" never enters their minds.

LOL! Sadly though I think your Magnum P.I. reference is leading to a lot of head scratching.

I think to some level the current pilot group doesnt care. Whenever you bring up first year pay to senior guys, the response "back in my day it was $17 or a flat salary of $1500" so they justify as being ok because they had to do it. Granted I'm the one that took the job knowing about first year pay, so I'm guilty of not helping the trend. But for all the new guys getting off probation, one thing we can do is call our reps and let them know this has to stop.
