The 6 min credit is built into the pairings, it's not in addition to your credit. Normal line is 87, it can flex up to 92. RSV is 75 hours guarantee.

Are new hires likely to get a line immediately or within a few months regardless of fleet or are 330, 717 and 767 all quite different depending on what fleet you go to?

Obviously 85 hours plus per diems v 75 hours makes a huge difference for a new hire in HNL with a young family etc.

Not sure for other but 330, perhaps a line after a month or two. But its a pretty bad line. Basically redeyes to lax and las. If you waive days off. You could definitely get a line. But honestly I'm not sure the pay is that much more 75 to 85. I'd rather just enjoy my days off, but its a personal choice. So yes you can get a line pretty quick on the 330, but the schedule will probably get old.

767 hasn't moved really, except just recently tons of f/os bailed the last vacancy so probably hold RSV or a crappy line right off the bat I would imagine.

717 I have no idea. But you'll be hone at night so it won't matter really

Is commuting from LAX / SAN a viable option?

Besides Hawaiian and other legacy airlines, you also have a bunch of cargo airline options from LAX/HNL.

I think he meant schedule wise. I heard the 717 schedules are not too commutable when you are junior or on reserve.
