Question for Timballo and Gunner V...
I was wondering if you already needed UAV experience to apply for the pilot jobs at either General Atomics (for Timballo) or Insitu (Gunner V).
I already have my Commercial ticket and CFI, CFII and MEI and meet the hours, but was curious to the "starting out" factor for each company. Gunner V stated he was deployed, but I was also wondering if General Atomics pilots get deployed in the same sense. I did two years in Afghanistan on a DOS contract so deploying again isnt a problem.
Any help would be greatly appreciated by any and all reading this post.

Red,
We all get third class medicals during training (if we don't have one aready), I don't know it that is just an Insitu thing or not though.
Millerspal,
Previous UAS background is not required. Prevous deployment experience is a big plus, and a prior secrutiy clearance is a must.

Thanks Gunner V,
That is not too bad, I had a secret clearance when I was in the military...Another fun question is, while you are not deployed are you living in the Gorge? I am originally from the Tri Cities, WA ...so I am familiar with the area.

GunnerV,
Thanks for the info. I applied to Insitu today. How long does it take to hear anything? I'm a former KC-10A driver with an expired TS/SCI. I'm about to be furloughed at my airline and need a job fast! I'm looking for a career outside of the airline industry and the UAS industry sounds like a good fit. You can PM me if you like. Thanks.
