Well congrats on the class date! When is it? I interviewed on the 12th and the only call I got was the same joethepilot did, about MORE paperwork. Really need a call tomorrow or an email asap so I can get on with my life. This is taking longer than most high-end government jobs.

 

Thanks! I certainly know what you're going through. I got an email from them the first week of feb about the additional paperwork as well. As far as the class date it's the 15th of march. Hopefully you'll get the call tomorrow.

Old flow plan not equal to what AH told a buddy of mine in class right now. Then again DOT (not the feds) could be wrong but I'm sure he's about 99.9% correct in his planning. I'm betting at least the next few classes are all ATR, however you are on jetnet and my buddy in class is only a new hire.

I just found out Claudette did not retire, she was promoted! Good for her. You can tell she is one hard working lady.

 

Negative. IIRC, it's about 9 years now. The failed attempt to oust 500 Captains to make room for 2300 Beagles to move up stalled any major movement for the moment. True, that movement would have been short-lived. Right now most are counting on "the gap" to drop upgrade times, but, IMHO, that is an academic circle jerk like "paper" money. It looks good on paper but doesn't really do anything.

If the effort to merge lists is successful (doubtful IMHO), then I foresee little or no movement as AA "right-sizes" itself through attrition but pilots in both unions would have to suffer under the concessions given for company approval of the merger. In a worst case scenario, the economy or industry takes another severe hit (gas prices or terrorism) and there is a furlough of several hundred AA pilots as they park MD-80s as quickly as they did 727s after 9/11.

Sorry to be the bearer of a dim future. Just simply doing my best to keep it realistic.

Our best bet is to seek forging a stronger union in preparation for our 2013 contract negotiations, but I'm in the minority with that outlook.

All CRJ DFW CA/FO vancancy awards from the Nov 2009 bid were cancelled today.

The new manager of pilot recruitment (R. King) was interviewing people to get the recruiting department back up to speed. (getting an assistant, and several pilot recruiters) until this week he was doing all of the recruitment by himself. That's why it's been backed up.

 

Got the call today!!!

I interviewed the first day. Not sure what my classdate will be but I passed the CA board. He said most likely March 29th but would know for sure next week. What a relief...its been over 7 weeks since I interviewed. I can't wait to start.
