They do. Sometimes the methods seem arbitrary, such as a four-year degree or 2000 hours instead of 1500, but HR does weed out the apps typically to a 10-1 ratio; ten applicants per job available. If the number of applicants exceeds the ratio, the requirements are altered to bring the number down. If the number of applicants is insufficient, then the requirements are reduced. Some years a pilot may need 1000 hours of multi, other years only 200 hours are required for the same airline.

I think we're running in circles here; I made it through the initial selection process from the pool of applications, then I made it through the interview process but later had the job rescinded by the review board. Since I'm 100 percent sure that nothing new came before the review board that wasn't stated in my application and the interview, what was the point in even inviting me down if they were just going to pull the offer for something they already knew? I have a feeling that's what others are frustrated about as well.

That is rough, I think the regional business will continue to grow but pay and benefits wont. So I would think having a qualified pilot living in base/native is a good thing. That is what I would be looking for. Commuting is tough and has already been under attack since the Colgan 3407 crash. Sorry man- I am really aiming for a regional that is based in Denver for the same reasons. Kids in great school, wife has great job and house has great equity.

Congratulations! I will say one thing. Eagle rewrote their checkride bust paperwork. It was mailed to me about a week after my interview. The letter enclosed indicated that the lawyers had "changed some things" on it. I couldn't tell the difference from it and the one I filled out at the interview. But then again im not a lawyer . They could have slipped an "and" or a "the" in the right spot to make a difference for all I know. Good luck everyone!

When I interviewed, they made it sound like they wanted no failures in your record. Someone that interviewed with me had a prior 121 failure and was told during the interview that more then likely they would not hire him because of said failure. He was even told that he shouldn't of even made it to the interview in the first place. Kind of weird but thats what happened and atleast they were honest with him.

Yes, 121 experience has been hired...Received a phone call yesterday! March 29th class. A few friends in class now are being put straight into ATR-72, trying to bid out of the Rock as we speak. No word on the class #'s yet nor base or equipment, all of that will be determined in class.
For those interested: worked for and furloughed from 2 different 121 carriers
2000 total, 900 multi turbine, CFII-MEI-AGI, Comm/Multi
Best of luck and to those of you waiting, hang in there, it's taking time, interviewed back in Jan.
