Does american and eagle really charge their own pilots to jumpseat? Yet they don't charge other jumpseaters? That is the worst jumpseat agreement I have ever heard. You might as well take the lower pay at colgan because after commuting costs you would be making the same kind of money.

JFK hasnt had any openings in a long time for current line pilots or newhires. Actually, I dont believe any newhires have been offered JFK in this latest hiring spree. They have been shrinking JFK flying recently, and we have gone from ~80 lines about a year ago to 44 lines for September and a rumored 28 lines for November.

Avoid JFK like the plague. If you want NY go to LGA. Why?
- You can't walk from any crashpad to JFK.
- For me, not as many flights to Boston as there are in LGA.
- Big airport...takes forever to get from the curb to the crew room.
-You have to go through security to get to a crew room.
- Too many doors with alarms on them.
Alright maybe my argument isn't that convincing but I like LGA much better. If you have the choice pick LGA and then in your travels through JFK see if you'd like it better. I'd say 9 out of 10 guys I know would prefer LGA.
