From Section 15,
I. TRAINING FREEZE
1. A pilot who voluntarily bids for and is awarded a permanent vacancy that requires upgrade training or training on a different equipment type will be subject to a fourteen (14) month training freeze, except that:
a. Each of the first one-hundred twenty-five (125) turbojet Captains will be subject to a training freeze of eighteen (18) months.
b. Thereafter, all turbojet Captains will be subject to a training freeze of twenty-four (24) months.
c. All newhire pilots will be subject to a training freeze of twelve (12) months. (Interest Arbitration 2001).
2. A training freeze will commence fourteen (14) days prior to the day said pilot is scheduled to report for training for his new position. If a pilot is withheld from a position his training freeze will run concurrent with that of the junior pilot who enters training for the same vacancy.
3. Pilots subject to a training freeze will not be awarded a permanent vacancy for a different status, except as provided in paragraph I. 4. a. and b., and J. 1. and 2. below. Pilots subject to a training freeze will not be precluded from bidding and being awarded a lateral bid status.

No prob. To sum it up the newhires wont be able to bid to different equipment for 12 months. That 12 months starts 14 days prior to entering training.

Also important to note for new FOs... You can bid up from ATR to EMJ/CRJ, but you cant bid down from EMJ/CRJ to ATR. Also, you cant bid laterally from ERJ to CRJ (or vice versa). The rules are a bit different for Captain slots, but its a long ways until we have to worry about that

Anyone have a simple breakdown on how per diem is paid out?

Is it per duty hour, per hour away from base, per hour while on reserve, etc?

Thanks

Default October 11

I just got the call for the October 11th class. Tentatively, it looks like 6 LGA CRJ's and 8 ORD EMJ's. Pretty excited!

Congrats! Did you already go through the review board? Or did they hold one today?
