I've spent a long time weighing the pros and cons to getting on with AirTran, now Im gonna do the same for JB.
LOL!!!! Just look at the title of this thread. "Hiring No", now the hiring window is open.

War Eagle!

Yeah, I believe all RSV folks have at least 12 hard days off per month. New changes to our RSV rules require RSVs to work at least 3-day blocks (we used to able to orphan days by using creative strategies). I rarely flew on RSV and was so happy to get a line so I did not have to spend much time in the crash pad. Some RSVs are really upset they may have to fly more than 30 hours a month, but for the benefit of the business, I can understand why the company is trying to make our RSVs fly a little more.

Although I was on RSV for only 9 months, it was much better than other RSV stints I did at other carriers, especially with long call (though I am told it's rare to see that these days).

Good luck. I am happy here - could always be worse, so I will not bite the hand that feeds me.

Just to clear up a few things about the new RSV rules, it now says 18 days on, so in 30 day months you will have 12 days off and in 31 day months you will have 13 days off. Also you are auto released your last day of RSV if you do not get an assignment by 1700. Expect to fly 30-60 hours a month on RSV, in slow months you may get long call (14hr) a couple of days, or just released all together.

Can you commute when pulling RSV? Or do you have to live in your assigned base?

You can commute to RSV (I did), but QOL is significantly improved if you can live in base or within a two hour's drive from base.

I'll just add that the February period actually goes from Jan 31 to Mar 1 so you still get 12 days off.

Anyone else apply yet? I feel like I missed something. It never asked for my flight times, the only place I could put anything about flight times was on my attached resume.

Make sure you check the "profile" part, not just the application. There is a page "pilots only" that will ask for a flight time breakdown. You might be able to get to it through the application section, but I did it on the profile. Best of luck!
