See the above mentioned agreement between Pinnacle and possibly several universities.

With only 16 900's in ATL as of now, it seems like I might not get to fly much but I wouldn't have to commute. I'm still outside looking in and am not really sure what to expect at this point. What's the commute ATL-JFK like?

FWIW, the last vacancy (11-2) was revised and 3 FO ATL spots where given to very junior guys, they are either finishing training or just popped out of it not too long ago.

My guess is most of the guys that wanted to go to ATL that where hired before the "crisis" have already gotten it.

Also keep in mind that ATL has been very senior on the FO side. Lots of guys are going to be upgrading this year, prolly a big part of them out of ATL to other bases. That will always free up some FO seats for new guys wanting to go there...

I'm going to be in the 2/28 class.

I former instructor of mine was a Mesaba furlough that started at Pinnacle in August. He was awarded the CRJ900/ATL just last week. I'm hoping to get ATL sometime soon. I know it won't be out of training.

DL - which interview did you attend? I was at the Feb 2 interview. I have the 3/14 class. I made a post asking for anyone who's in the 3/14 class but no one confirmed. I wonder how many in a class? And if the new contract allows for single occupancy at the hotel.

I interviewed on 2/16. During the interview they told us that they wanted us in the Feb 28th class if we could make it. I got a call yesterday confirming I was in the 2/28 class.

That's great. I'll be a couple of weeks behind you but I'm sure we'll run into each other. Have you received a "training packet" yet or anything telling you where to be and what time etc?

DL31082 03-19-2011 07:39 PM

We see the hiring people in the school house pretty much every Wednesday. They interview on Wednesday right across the street. No they haven't stopped interviewing. They are planning on a class of at least 10 every two weeks until the end of the year.

raress 04-30-2011 04:45 PM

still interviewing?

Al Czervik 04-30-2011 06:02 PM

Yup. Another 175 to hire this year.

jetstream11 05-01-2011 10:04 AM

Just went for an interview a week ago. said they are losing a lot of pilots

Cal Varnson 05-01-2011 10:30 AM

They pretty firm on the 200 multi?

DL31082 05-01-2011 10:31 AM

A bunch of LCAs and sim instructors just went to FEDEX.

KTownPilot 05-01-2011 02:38 PM

Pinnacle Training

I hear they interview at a hotel and will be traveling to one on Wednesday. Do you also get a chance to see the company? Do they have their own training department like SkyWest or is it outsourced?

raress 05-31-2011 04:24 PM

etflies 05-31-2011 04:31 PM

I hope hiring is going on for all 3 certificates, we're painfully short on pilots right now.

l1011 06-16-2011 09:21 PM

Whats the story on sharing hotel rooms during training? Are they still doing that?

Im considering applying but I have a pretty sweet part 91 gig and don't no if i want to give that up. If I had to share a hotel room with someone for 8 weeks that would most likely keep me away from this company.

usmc-sgt 06-18-2011 05:58 AM

You get single occupancy

tbjav8r 06-22-2011 08:36 AM

Question: Where does Pinnacle train??

usmc-sgt 06-22-2011 10:20 AM

Ground school is in MEM at the CEC (corporate education center). Not sure where the sims are.

Colgan Pilot 07-04-2011 10:27 AM

I was just wondering if Mesaba / Pinnacle have hired into the Q400 recently?

DL31082 07-10-2011 07:02 AM

Sims are either in flightsafety MEM or flightsafety STL. I don't know if 9E can use XJ 200 sim yet.

nope... and they aren't going to... all of Colgan's hiring is into the Saab... and they're insanely understaffed in it...

9E still hiring? Applied little while ago

Should be. I'm a little out of touch after going to JFK, but looking at the last vacancy, we need FOs in a bad way. Last I heard is they were looking to lower the mins to apply, but the insurance company told 'em "No."

What are the chances of getting DTW out of training?

turbojet28 07-25-2011 07:22 PM

You can hold DTW right out of training. I think there were still like 30 F/O spots unfilled in DTW on the last Pinnacle vacancy if I remember correctly.

stbloc 07-25-2011 07:26 PM

I assume DTW is more senior, is that correct? Do many relocate to the area or commute?

Farmlover 07-26-2011 05:32 AM

Dtw is a jr base, and most people commute.

Tell em to get a new insurance company. I came within a hairs' breadth of getting on with them, but that 1000/100 is FIRM. I liked how they treated me throughout the process, though. Great company.

Yes they still are. I was told by a buddy instructor at 9E that they are still picking up 19 for class every two week.

Hard for me to believe seeing as we have quite a lot of displacements going on right now. But it was a good source.

Good luck to all those interested.

IlliniPilot99 09-01-2011 07:30 AM

didn't the last 9e class get displace to the Saab...

...from what I've been told from pinnacle and mesaba hr, no new hires are goin to the jet anymore (of course I'm not an employee for another 11 days, so who knows)

Yeah, new hires for Mesaba, Piinacle, and Colgan are all in one pot now. And that pot happens to feed the Saab.

Pretty much what he said. They are hiring, although the most junior guys on our list that were on the jet got displaced to the sabb. What a waste of time and money.

Diesel450 09-09-2011 03:23 AM

Yeah I think the last 9E class was halfway through CRJ systems when the realignment came out. So everyone now is headed to the Sabb. Then somewhere else in a few months once they are all gone....
