I was told they only have classes planned until the end of November.

How many furloughs (non-Mesaba) has Pinnacle hired? I am thinking about sending in my Resume. I haven't flown in a while just trying to see what my chances are.

According to the latest memo: 51 XJ guys and 21 new guys. Grand total will be 128 new pilots on the 9E list by the end of 2010.

mosquito 09-07-2010 02:15 PM

That's for the info.

DL31082 09-07-2010 05:08 PM

Hopefully I'll get a call soon. Right now I have 3 internal recs so hopefully.

Anybody know how well the CVG open house went today?

Were many Comair pilots there? (I'll ask on the Comair thread too.)

So I got the call and did the phone interview, and was told to wait for HR to give me a call to schedule the interview date. So I guess I will be waiting for that.

Does anybody has a current gauge?

Spoke to a recruiter/pilot friend of mine from Pinnacle a few weeks ago about their mins..He pretty much told me they aren't going to budge on the min time because of the Colgan accident and such. However, you're a little closer to the mins than I am. Good luck though, and hopefully you'll get a call soon!

higney85 09-08-2010 05:23 PM

I've been told by the one heading up the hiring that 1000/200 is concrete, no exceptions. Just passing the word... Good luck to all.

I guess I got lucky hang in there. JFK would be perfect for me. It would only be a 20 minute drive to work. I still don't have an interview just did the phone screening, so still more waiting.

jetpilot419 09-09-2010 05:31 AM

I've got an interview set for next week. I'll look up some of the gouge and keep my fingers crossed. Sounds like JFK will probably be the base then?

mosquito 09-09-2010 06:20 AM

Hey jetpilot419, how long did you wait from the phone screening to get the actual interview?

I got a call from HR the very same day after the first phone call.

From what it sounds like most new hires will be filling the JFK base. I have a Sept 27th class date set up. And I am around 3200 TT all mutli turbine.

However I talked to Mesaba guys that were in the hotel doing new hire training, and they all got to pick there base choice. They were told they have vacencies pretty much at every base they have. not sure how long that will last though.

Can anyone give me any input as to training. Like how many days , where is it held. Do I need a car while I am in training ?? Or would it be nice to have one? Also how soon do we get badges to start jumpseating???? Or am I stuck in MEM till training is over??? just trying to get a feal for the next two months.

thanks in advanced for anyone who can lay it down for me. :)

PS , for all those who are going to interview I posted something on willflyforfood.com and aviationinterviews.com to help out. Good luck to all those going for it.

Unless it has changed, you will be a better off with a car in Memphis.
Training is 8-10 weeks depending on scheduling sims, holidays, etc. At the completion of your checkride/sim eval, you will get a company ID and then you can jumpseat. The last new hires went to any base they wanted, but Atlanta. It will probably be a couple of years before that base opens up again.
As a side note, unless you know someone, minimums probably won't get you a phone call unless more majors/nationals start hiring.
Good luck and remember, it's just a job.

mosquito 09-09-2010 08:17 AM

Congrats, he said HR going to call in a couple of days and that was yesterday. I hope I did not get disqualified.

man being stuck in that hotel for 8 weeks without being able to jumpseat home atleast once is murder... oh well.

Most airlines that I can recall get you a company ID on day 2 of training.

booter24 09-09-2010 11:32 AM

I interviewed a couple of weeks ago and am still waiting to hear about a class date. How long did it take you guys to hear about a class date after you sent back the fedex package?

For those inquiring about times. The guys I talked to on my interview day were all pretty high time....I'd say 3000-5000 hours with 121 or 135 jet time. I think there were a couple of instructors, but they all had a couple thousand hours as well. Funny how a few years can go from 500 hour new hires to 5000 hour new hires at the regional level.

I also heard that most guys got their pick of base

Congrats. Hopefully we can get as many people on from comair that want to come.

jetpilot419 09-09-2010 06:25 PM

Yeah, congrats. I only had to wait a day, but haven't got any info(flt, packet, etc). DO they send it last minute? I imagine there's a bunch of paperwork to take along?

rightside02 09-10-2010 03:13 AM

Anyone else on here got a class date of Sept 27th ??? Trying to see how many is going to be in my class. ? :)

Quick question for furloughed guys interviewing.......I know Mesaba folk get to keep their Sen number....but has the 'are you prepared to give up your seniority number at X airline ' question come up for everyone else.?

You'll be seeing a former instructor of mine from here in Florida in your class. He just got hired and is leaving soon.

They senority number starts over at the bottom of the list like everyone else. However their longevity as far as pay goes stays the same, so for some of them they are starting Pinnacle at 3rd or 4th year pay so I was told by a few in training while I interviewed.

ohboyeightyone 09-10-2010 06:39 PM

I interviewed 9/9..and was called the next day for a job offer...class date offers 10/11, or 10/25...

anyone else from the 9/9 interview date get a call back?

Ok I understand this. My question is whether or not Furloughed guys must resign their seniority at the airline they are furloughed from. Has any furloughed guy from X airline been told they will have to give up their seniority number if they get hired at Pinnacle.?

Just curious what times people are getting hired with and what type of experience backgrounds? I know they get to be a little choosy in this market.

At my interview we had 11 guys total. And for the most part everyone had about 3000 or so hours Total Time. Some jet, some just turbin Prop SIC like me. Although we had 3 or 4 high time CFI's in there as well. And I know atleast one of them got hired with me. So looks like it isnt just high time part 121 guys that are getting hired.

I interviewed 9/26 and was given a class date of Sept 27th. They said they were going to try to run a new hire class every 2 weeks.

KentSt22 09-11-2010 05:54 AM

Have you guys been choosing a base during training or during the interview?? What's the seniority of dtw? Also how many days are you typically on reserve per week? Thanks!
